Actually useful
I've used this cable for a week and I'll come back and post within days of it dying (since one review said it got damaged) but so far I like it a lot.Pros:- It looks good.- It is actually useful. Two reasons for this:#1 - It lets you charge better: It ran fast on some USB ports on my desktop computer and slower on the others, different speeds on laptops too; digging around I discovered some USB ports are designed to give more power so now I know where to plug in the phone for faster charging. Of two car chargers, one is super super weak too.#2 - It is educational: I read rumors that Apple computers look for Apple USB devices and Apple USB devices look for Apple USB ports and when they see this, there is more power on the port. So for example they have intentionally built it to make Apple laptop and Apple iPhone work better with each other vs Apple laptop and a Kindle for example. Experimenting with this cable and a lot of devices I'm sure this is true.Cons:- The USB connector to PC is a bit too big.- There seems to be a few seconds lag between what is happening and what you see with the lights; i.e. If you remove the device, it takes a few seconds before the charge indicator slows down and goes away.- Knowing charge speeds as I mentioned in one of my Pros can actually be a con if you don't like what you see. Unfortunately is seems like it is common for more powerful USB ports to be in the back of PCs and weak ones in the front. Why do they do that?!? So now instead of comfortably plugging in and waiting I have to decide between easier or more efficient charging.Anyway, I'll come back as soon as mine is damaged. It is for normal home use, no travel or purse carrying like the review where damage was mentioned. At the time I bought it it was less expensive and only five dollars more than normal cables and I think it was worth the few dollars more.UPDATE:As promised reporting when it failed. It failed on 670th day I've owned it. It worked great until the last charge when it just went dead.UPDATE:Damage to mine was fixable and it is working again. Just for fun I opened the USB brick and it looked OK in there (It is all hand soldered). I opened the Dock side and two of the cables had come loose. Hard to solder them back in place because they are short and connect to the same place but once done, it works again. I'm amazed it lasted 670 days given what it looks like inside the connectors.

Beautiful..while it lasted that is.
Product was amazing and fun to use. Charged properly and trickle charged the last 5% just as advertised. Big problem is it stopped charging devices after a few months. When the cord is plugged in initially the el wire lights up and shifts slowly as it should but when you plug it into a device it does nothing. It glows for 30 seconds and then turns off. Im assuming there must be an issue with the control board, regardless the product is now unusable and sadly a waste of money.

Nifty, but not perfect
The lights look just as cool as you would expect, but my grudge with the cable is that whenever I plug it in, I can hear an EXTREMELY high pitched noise being emitted from the USB housing. It's barely within hearing range, but it's there, and it drives me crazy. The other issue I have with it is that the USB housing itself is longer than it looked at first, total length is almost 2 inches when plugged in. Wish it could be a bit shorter. Other than that, it looks great with the lights, and seems to be built well. I just wish mine didn't squeal. I think mine is just slightly defective. Might consider returning it.

Flux Capaci-tacular! Watch the radioactive goo flow!
CRAFTSMANSHIP, FIT & FINISH and MATERIALSThis is a relatively inexpensive plastic device, made of relatively inexpensive plastic. That being said, it's perfectly suited for it's intended usage. The fact that they were able to fit all of the necessary electronics into the only somewhat enlarged male USB plug tells me there was some investment in miniaturization here. The cable itself feels durable but stiffer than I'd like. I can only assume the stiffness was a necessary tradeoff to keep the wiring and electroluminescent elements safe from harm during extreme flexion.USING THE DEVICEThe design is straightforward and operates like any other iDevice charge/sync cable. What makes it special is of course the 'chasing' interactive lights that give an immediate visual indication of the charge status of your device. The intended effect is that you are seeing the 'energy' flow into your device. Building on that analogy, when your battery level is quite low the 'energy' flows faster, and as your battery 'fills', the flow slows to a trickle and ultimately stops altogether when charging is complete and your battery is 'full'.My only wish is that they would release a black version with green illumination, and make the green 'greener', as the light is much bluer in reality than is depicted on packaging and in photos.RECOMMENDATIONThis cable does add some useful features (the ability to visually ascertain charge status at a glance, the ability to locate your device in low-light situations, etc.), but let's face it, at the end of the day this is about the fun and wow factor. In that regard this cable is a winner, and is guaranteed to draw nerds like catnip, only for nerds. Nerd-nip?Recommended: Yes.

Works great just not in cars
The Dexim works great its pretty cool but for some reason when I plug it into my car the light doesn't stay on but when I plug it in at home the light stays on but all in all it's very cool I like it
