SainSmart 0.8mm Solder Wire 63/37 Tin/Lead Sn63Pb37 with Flux Rosin Core for Electrical Soldering (100g /0.22lbs)

High quality
High quality tin/lead software. I am building devices that need to function for many years. Lead free solder has the problem of growing tin whiskers that will short out and cause failures. This solder prevents this and is high quality.

Nice flow, does pop and splatter a bit, speedy delivery!!
Nice solder, but kinks when unrolled, like its hollow, and pops like water in hot grease sometimes, maybe the flux core isn't consistent, besides the explosions, and kinking, it works well, and the piping can throw hot flux and solder on you if you are too close.. Not sure if I'd buy again, I'll wait and see you the roll turns out a bit deeper in, it could just be in the outer exposed part of the spool, the delivery was quick! Works abd flows well after the allvthe explosions are over, it is a nice heavy roll, some are just short spools, with only part of the small spool used, this one couldn't hold anymore if ithad to !!. The only real issue is the popping and splattering, otherwise, its a nice thickness for most uses, not too thich, or too small, .

Good solder, great price.
I am using this for electronics repair. First use left me impressed with the good quality of this The melting point is good, the flow is good and the adherence is good. I have not done any mechanical testing on joints but I expect it is fine.I used it to repair a broken game cartridge last night and it worked. This solder did not seem to melt or flow at a noticeably different rate from what Nintendo originally used.

Good enough, could use more flux
Doesn't seem to ever have quite enough flux to get the job done. It's a good diameter for most electronics work, I just have trouble getting it to bond sometimes without adding flux.

Quality
This is the best solder I have used for surface mount. A little dab of flux and my Weller set at 625-650 degress and it flows smoothly. Remember a little goes a long way with surface mount components and dont forget to use a good quality flux. I bought solder of Ebay and it was crap.JeffKd4lyh

Reasonably priced, good solder for general use
I solder only occasionally, but these seem to be pretty good solder (flows pretty well); and with this large spool for the cost, I won't have to buy solder any time soon.

Custom Mechanical Keyboard Approved!
I have used this solder with several keyboard builds where I had to solder in LEDs or the switches to the PCB. Works perfectly I have no complaints on concerns. I can highly recommend this to anyone looking to solder their electronics.

Great solder wire!
I bought this as a general solder for electronics that I need to repair around the house (i.e electric wires in cars, repair of cables around the house, small DIY projects) and I have to say it works very well. The rosin core works as intended and really gives a nice flow the solder once heated up. I can't say I have a very sophisticated setup for my soldering work but even so this wire has been very good. To detail some of the projects I did: 1) I did some electrical work in my project car, wherein I did a lot of joining of 2 - 4 millimetre thick wiring and the solder flowed very well and was able to join the ends and allowed the system to work, 2) DIY project for a LED conversion for an LCD monitor, I was working with very thin wires, <1mm thick, and while this solder was a little too much for board soldering, I was nevertheless able to get it done because the gave the solder a decent enough flow to manage, and 3) doing some standard work with fixing broken cables, it works well, nothing to say that hasn't been said. Overall I think it's great to have around for any handy person in the house incase something electrical needs rewiring. Don't have to bring out the whole electrical kit to get it done, just this spool and a simple solder iron will do it.

It's really easy tin to work with
This SainSmart tin melts easily and at lower heat than lead-free tin.Stay away from all cheap Chinese tin, they will only cause major oxidation on the tip shortening the life-span of your soldering tip and just a pain to work. After I got this tin, I was doing soldering really quickly and easily. Soldering is something new to me, when I was using lead-free tin I thought I was just bad at soldering or my soldering iron was bad or the heat was too low. All these things disappeared after I got this tin. Soldering is fun again :-DThe SainSmart brand is quality, I bought their Soldering Iron earlier also, upgrading from the cheap China one.I only wish the tin cost was lower, but would definitely buy this brand again.

Great Solder!
I am pretty picky with my solder and I am always worried when ordering a new brand as I have bought several I hated and threw away even. But not this stuff! This is Great! Will buy this from now on as long as it is available. It is pretty thin as I use it for small wiring and electronic type stuff. If you need more just add more! For finer work just grab it you will be happy I am sure.

Apparently not all 63/47 is 63/47
Bought some less expensive 63/47 here on Amazon and it was total garbage. Don't trust what you read. This solder melts and flows like good solder. Don't buy cheap Chinese solder thinking it doesn't matter because you only have a few small jobs, you'll end up with cold joints or destroying a board trying to get it to flow. This is still made in China but it's real 63/47.
