The 2" clips are have excellent coverage to hold practically anything, but does lack a bit of magnetic hold. The magnet seems a bit weak and could be stronger, but other than that it's good for holding a few pieces of paper. We tried holding a calendar to the refrigerator door and needed 2 clips to hold it. Our older round clips had better magnetic hold, with the magnet being the same size. I'd give these an 8 out of 10 rating.

I bought these for use with watercolor painting and have clipped 2 to the side of my easel where they securely hold a metal palette, which is very convenient. I keep looking for more uses for them and recently hung one from an S hook on an overhead cabinet door pull which holds a bunch of wiping rags within close reach. Because I am always losing my pencil sharpener, I have stuck one to the magnet of that same clamp.

This product has a VERY strong magnetic hold. I am quite a forgetful person; I have to put papers, checks, lists, etc. on my door with a magnet so that I see them as I'm leaving the house. Unfortunately, that also meant papers EVERYWHERE each time I opened my door due to low quality magnets. I bought these hoping they were as good as they looked. These clips were above and beyond my expectations. I haven't lost a single paper since purchasing these magnetic clips.

Use them during my cruises. Place them on the walls and are good to hold laniers, baseball caps, programs etc.
