GREAT PRODUCT

So many reasons this isn't worth it
Needed to change my work setup to a standing desk and thought this would be great for my keyboard / mouse. Unfortunately though, the keyboard rest tilts if you put too much pressure on it (ie. too much = resting the palm of your hands on it as you type), the mouse pad is very small so the mouse has to be half off it in order to also have your palm on it as you normally would the desk and so the mouse is constantly falling off it and finally, the maximum height of the platform is barely high enough for me and I am 5'7" so definitely wouldn't be any good for anyone any taller.

Very solid and sturdy
This is very solid and stable. I have no issues with the mouse plate that some people complain about. The adjustment mechanism is not obvious or intuitive. The instructions tell you to "squeeze" the lever. In fact you need to remove the keyboard, lift the unit so it is not resting on a table and the pull the lever up.

Excellent
Easy to set up and use, been using for over 12m. Provides the extra height to stand while at my work station.

Well built and sturdy but mechanically flawed.
I purchased this fully aware that other people have had an issue with the stand collapsing as there is not a lot of choice for this type of thing. Unfortunately I had the same problem. The problem being the cog that the locking mechanism engages into to lock both scissor legs, for height, is poorly fitted which results in the locking mechanism springing back into the lock position (engaging in the cog) but not enough for a slight pressure to force the cog to ride over the locking mechanism resulting in collapse. Whilst collapsing the cog also wears the softer locking mechanism tip making the mechanism even less likely to lock the next time. I really like the size and build of the rest of the stand so I have ordered another one which if the same I will sort myself. At the time I received the stand I didn't know why the locking mechanism tip looked worn compared to the rest of the black painted metal work but I now believe I was not the first person to receive and return the stand.

Does the job... kind of! There is no alternative position it is either really high or really low

Would be great if it stayed up
The mechanism for holding this in a position is not well built. It will consistently snap out of position and crash folded up on the desk, fortunately so far it has not crushed any body parts when doing so. I may have to glue it into place which will remove any future flexibility. If it weren't for this is it would be a very good product, but staying up is a pretty fundamental requirement. Also I have had to add some thick books to the mouse pad to raise the mouse to a suitable position relative to the keyboard.
