These are just as well made as the original game pieces, and add another fun dimension to the game. I couldn't find these in any store, so I was happy to find them on Amazon.By the way, my 6-year old grandson is great at this game! He's a pretty sharp kid and loves to play games. Last time we played, he beat me every single time!! He taught me how to use the expansion pieces.So this game is great for young and old, in my opinion! I also love how portable it is.

The media could not be loaded. Fun addition to Hive! The ladybug adds some versatility and can travel three spaces (two up on top and then one down).

Adds a bit of variety to a fun game. Not really necessary though - it's a perfectly fun game without these pieces.Value for the money is low - these pieces are expensive for what they are.

Hive has become my new favorite game (Even though it's been out for years, I just discovered it). I like that the creators have offered additional gameplay expansions. The Ladybug adds an additional element to the game by having the ability to do what the beetle can do only faster, since it can climb atop the hive but moves in 3 spaces vs 1. It cannot stay on top of the hive as the beetle can, however, and must land down on an empty space on it's 3rd move. Still, gets you places quicker.

This can be a powerful piece when closing in for the win. Sort of in-between a Spider and a Beetle. We love it!Well-made. Same high quality and feel as orig pieces.

My husband and I love playing Hive. This addition is well worth the money and makes the game more fun. It is becoming one of my favorite pieces.
