Make sure you plug it directly into the motherboard USB ports, and not a hub.
Awesome little SDR that works on my android phone and PC's. After getting familiar with it, I will have to tell you that it is important to plug it into the motherboard and not a USB hub, otherwise you will overheat the device. I recommend this product and the team behind it. Their tech support was great!OLD REVIEWThis is a really cool and compact SDR, but I suspect a thermal design issue. After about 20-25 minutes of running it on HDSDR, it disappears from the usb devices list. When it finally gives up, I measure 130.9*F on my fluke 179 at the copper RF connector of the nano 2. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this if it's not the 24/7 device they describe. Maybe I just received a bad unit. It's a shame because the size and appearance is awesome.

Works very well but runs a little hot
Overall I give this a 4 star review as I am slightly concerned over how hot the device runs while using it and how long the device may last before it could burn out. I don't know it's operating temperatures should be and so it maybe well within tolerances. It probably could use slightly better heat dissipation designed into it. However, with that one caution noted, it performs exactly as described and is a great little unit to scan for radio frequencies across a wide range of the RF spectrum. Software and driver install could be a little easier but performs well.

A great, cheap, receive-only SDR
I ended up using one for monitoring my water meter in Hassio (using rtlamr), I was impressed with how well it worked. On the first try it picked up all the water meters nearby. If these things could transmit as well I'd buy a few more.

Worked great for 18 months - but runs warm, and eventually cooks itself.
I used this to monitor my smart meters. It worked well for about 18 months, until it started going for days at a time without detecting any activity from the meters, only to start receiving again, before it finally quit. Looking closer, the internal LED no longer lit, though the device still showed up on the usb bus. Cracking open the case, I found scorch marks near and on what appear to be two LDO voltage regulators on the underside of the board. As others have said, the Nano 2 does run warm, but I had this connected to a RasPi in a location that had ample ventilation, and the board still cooked itself to death after 18 months. Not worth the $33 this device now costs to replace it, if it's going to need to be replaced every year or two.

Broke after a year
I liked the size, however after a few uses one of the SMD components dislodged and the device stopped working.

Works great small size is nice
Used this for an APRS iGate project on a raspberry Pi 3B running direwolf 1.4. Works great.. gets a little warm but works fine it runs 24x7..

At first it worked perfect, although I noticed it got quite hot
I bought it to use for ADS-B IN for Avare and Avare ADSB. At first it worked perfect, although I noticed it got quite hot. After about 10 minutes it stopped working on 1090 MHz but continued working on 978 MHz. After about another 30 minutes of use it stopped working on either frequency, and when plugged in the device continually re-connects and is not recognized by the app.It seems like it worked but I would guess the heat killed a critical component in a short amount of time. I was using this plugged into a mirco USB host OTG cable so there is very little in the way of heat dissipation over the USB connection.

Great ABSB item
Replaced existing item which gave up on me…this one is a easier connection to my antenna.
