Great for kids learning to read and write. I was able to work with my daughter using these cards while playing 'school.' Added bonus, improved quality time. Would buy again.

Colorful and accurate drawings.
These are made from quality cardboard that isn't too thin so they're pretty durable. There are some things I like about them and some I don't. This set has a whole bunch of picture cards, like animals, things, places etc. The pictures are really great, they're well drawn and clear as to the subject matter. There are some cards that are shapes and directions. These a decent as well but I'd prefer them to be a bit more simple and obvious. The color cards are a little difficult for my ESL learners. They see the pen/pencil/crayon and get confused as to what i'm trying to teach. I would prefer these cards just have solid colors. This isn't a deal breaker but I will be using flashcards from a different set to demonstrate colors. Overall i'm pretty happy with these.

the shapes work best for new learners as there are only 2 colors ...
WOW! Far more than I expected! First off there are six types of cards and they can be mix and matched used a number of ways. If you buy this set and an alphabet set of your choice, then you really have all the flashcards you need for awhile.1. What goes together? or for some pairings where do they live?-spider/web-dog/doghouse-bird/nest-farm girl/barn/goat-fireman/firetruck-bee/flower (though i would have preferred a hive with honey)2. Which words rhyme?-bear, pear,-goat, boat,-cat, hat-frog, log, dog-sled, bed, red-cake, snake3. How many do you see?-1 mouse (really wish they also included a house card for ryhming and to give a person or cat a home-2 turtles-3 seahorses-4 owls-5 ducks-6 lady bugs-7 newts-8 snails-9 goldfish-10 crows/black birds4. What color is this?- yellow crayon- green paint on green paintbrush- red marker- blue crayon- orange crayon- purple marker- brown paint on brown paintbrush- white paint on white paintbrush- black markerthen can go through all the other cards and name the colors for any object you want... the shapes work best for new learners as there are only 2 colors present on each card.5. What direction is this?- up balloon- down submarine- boy points left- girl points right(also can include bee flying up)6. What shape is this?- orange circle on purple background- red square on a yellow background- purple triangle on a red background- Green oval on a blue background- Blue rectangle on an orange background- yellow diamond on a green background7. You can even devise your own questions...a. Organize into categories... and how many categories you want to do at the same time... some examples are:- Plant, Animal, or Not Alive?- Fish, Mammal, Reptile, Amphibian, Bird, Invertebrate, or not alive?See how you can make it as easy or as hard as you want.... and you can choose as many or as few cards to do the categorizing with.Overall, excellent variety in one box!

My baby really responds to this and she's only 4 months old!
I never think that my baby is too young for learning. So even at 4 months old, I bought several flash cards for our playtime in between reading time and listening to music time. She really responds to these ones. Every time I change cards, she squeals in delight. The colors are nice and bright. The images are big enough for her to see clearly. And I like that it's a combination of different things---just the basics such as colors, numbers, rhyming words, etc.The number cards don't show actual numbers but rather show number of items. For instance, instead of the number "1", the flashcard shows the picture of one pig; for the number 2 the flashcard has a picture of two ice cream cones, for the number 3, the card shows a picture of three mice. At first, I wasn't sure how to teach my baby about numbers with these cards. But I figured instead of teaching her numbers with these cards, I can use it to teach her how to count. So when I see the pic, I say, "one pig" then for 2, I point to one of the cones and say "One!" then point to the second cone and say "Two! Two ice cream cones!", and so on...For the rhyming words (bear-pear; sled-bed), I hold up both cards, one card closer to her face and the other farther. I mention the item on the card closer to her face first, then switch positions and move the card that was previously closer to her face farther; and the other card that was previously farther from her face closer to her and mention it's name. I do it about 3x before I move on to the next rhyming words. I do the same process with the "Go-Together List" cards (dog-bone; bird-nest).When I show her the direction cards (left, right, up, down), I show her the card first, then I use her own hands to move to that direction while I tell her the name of the direction.I love this set and I'll be using it throughout her toddler years when she can finally tell me what's in each card instead of me telling her what's in them.

Great product for young children!
I bought these for my 10 month old. It is never too early to start learning! The cards have big, bright pictures on them which holds his attention. The size is bigger than your standard 3x5 index card. I would for sure recommend these to parents of young children. The cards are not as flimsy as I thought they would be for less than three bucks. There are six different types of cards in this pack which include 9 colors, 10 numbers, 6 shapes, 4 directions (up, down, side to side), 12 rhyming words, and 12 go togethers (bird, nest; dog, doghouse ect) Great early learning activities.

Super zum englisch lernen.
Unsere Kinder (3 und 5 Jahre) lieben diese Karten. Damit können verschiedene "Spiele" gespielt werden und so spielerisch die Vokabeln vermittelt werden.
