Kingston Brass DLL201 Made to Match Lift and Lock Bathtub Drain, Polished Chrome

Nice looking drain. It's got a good heft to it so I can believe it's made of brass. My only problem was the gasket is 1/8" thick while I needed a 3/16". So I ended up not using the new gasket and used the old one. Who knew finding a 3/16" tub gasket would be hard.

I was sick of replacing the cheap ones the hardware store sold. These looked cheap when I got them because of the packaging. However, once I opened and installed these, I could tell they were much heavier duty than the rest. The lift and lock works nicely. Unscrewing the top is much easier (pull up half way and unscrew) when you have a hair clog than the others too. I am constantly cleaning wookie wigs out of the drain living with 3 females. Hopefully, I won't have to buy another one of these for a while. It looks that way though.

I bought this to replace the junk I installed a couple years ago that was already failing. This is heavier and feels sturdier than the previous drain units I got at Lowes, so I'm hopeful that I won't be replacing these again for a long time.

I like the heavy stout feel of it. So I'd love to install it. It definitely feels like what I wanted - something robust that'll hold up.But it's too large of a diameter. Mine is 1.5" and this one said 1.5", so go figure that it doesn't work.The diameter of the threads on this one is about 1.75".Stating the ID, OD, and TPI would probably help a lot to avoid returns, wrong product, etc.

Good product. Installs just like any other tub drain. One thing to know is the outside diameter of the threaded piece (part that goes into drain) is about 1 7/8" Outside Diameter. This does not come with an adapter to remove for smaller diameter drains. Fit perfect for my tub drain. Measure your existing drain before ordering. I believe this was a coarse threaded one as well.

It was hard to find the perfect threaded fit for our tub drain, but this was it. Ours is a molded shower/tub combo from about 25 years ago. Most modern drains have sizing sleeves to adapt if the fit isn't right. I tried 5 others that neither fit nor could be adapted before the Kingston. NOTE: the documentation neglects to mention that there is a pin to remove before installing. It is at the very bottom of the brass shaft. Take it off and toss. My helper somehow managed to install it with the pin still on. It was hell to get out again and remove that pin, but it's working perfectly now.

Beware. Although the specifications on both the web page and the box indicate 1-1/2" diameter, it's actually larger and will not fit a standard 1-1/2" drain pipe. Disappointing since in all other respects it looked like a well built and reliable fixture.

My bathtub drain was getting really rusted and gross, and the cross bars even broke off so I desperately needed a new one. This one was a wonderful replacement and fit perfectly. I really like the stopper pre-installed so that I don't need to get a drain stopped separately.
