AC Relay

This relay worked perfectly to automate my gas fireplace switch.

AC relay works great as described. AC hooks up to the small terminals.

The item works great as described. AC connector is the small terminal connectors for people that are confused. Other connectors on the relay when the relay is not energized with the AC power the connectors inside will allow power to go from the COM connector to one terminal that is large. When the AC relay is energized the connector inside the relay will allow the COM connector terminal that is large to go to the other large connector. The AC connector that is small does not pass any power to the large connectors at all they are isolated from each other. Using the large connectors is an open and door circuit That you choose to allow power to pass through in the closed position when the AC power is energized on one large terminal connection and when the AC power is turned off it will allow the power that is hooked up to it to pass through the other side. Again these two AC small connectors are only AC power only to energize the Relay only. On the COM connector, you hook up the positive DC and you choose the other large connector if you want the power to come out when the AC power is on will allow one LARGE terminal to be active, and when the power is turned off to allow the DC power to go through the other LARG terminal that is large completing your connection circuit. Hopefully, this helps everyone out. You take your AC power and you hook it directly to SMALL Connectors from your AC directly to the AC relayingif you were hooking up any device you would hook it directly to the relay as if you were hooking up a lightbulb. You would hook up AC POWER ON THE SMALL CONNECTORS ONLY the Black on one small connector and White wire on one small connector in any direction on the small terminals that will activate the magnetic coil. Hooking up the AC power to the small terminals directly will not short out the relay that is designed to receive AC power. Hopefully, my explanation will be helpful to all customers.

Works as expected

I purchased this relay to enable the switching on and off of a usb powered led picture light. Although the light had a switch, it could not be controlled from a wall switch or plug in timer. So, I identified the one of three wires between the switch and led lights that could switch the light on and off. I cut that wire and connected the two ends to the relay contacts. The two coil connections on the relay were then connected to a plug to a wall outlet. It worked perfectly, allowing me to turn on the picture light from a wall switch. The relay’s only negative was the lack of push-on connectors which I had to buy at a hardware store.

Relay does what it is advertised to perform.

The power input terminals are too small and too close together. For my application, it would have been better to have the same size terminals as the output.

Coil only Draws 20mA

Not sure why it's not indicated in the specifications, but the coil measures about 2.6 kohms and only draws about 20 mA with 120 VAC input. That's only 2.4 watts. I am using one for detecting loss of power at one location so I am going to leave it on all the time, except when power goes out which isn't too often throughout the year. No load will be placed on it. I'm really happy with the size, packaging and the per-terminated wires that come with it. Great value!

Perfect for Electric Garage Heater / Baseboard Heater Thermostat Conversion

So I have solar, in fact quite a bit of solar on my roof. I bought ahead of inflation so I will have plenty for an EV when I get one. The way my electric is billed, I also get more credit for producing than using since I produce during a 'peak rate'.To use the extra power, I have multiple electric heaters, all of which expect to use 120V (line type) thermostats. Trouble is finding one that is programmable and/or wifi - they seem non-existent. But, using this relay along with a 24VDC (yes DC not AC) LED power supply, I was able to use this relay to turn on/off the electric heaters with smart thermostats, and it works awesome - it lets me burn off the extra electricity heating my house, and at the lower off peak rates to boot.Thermostat Wiring: C - Power Supply Ground (Black), R - Power Supply (Red), W - Relay Red Coil Wire (White thermostat wire), and then also connect the Relay Black coil wire to the Power Supply Ground. The two heavier wires on the relay go to the thermostat wires on the heater.

Furnace back in operation.

My Electric furnace uses 4 relays to trigger the heating elements . One relay burnt out, unfortunately failing to on. It cost us quite a bit that summer. I eventually diagnosed why our hydro bill was so high. lol lesson learned.I replaced the failed relay. The furnace is working as it should. Now I turn the relay breakers off in the spring when heating is no longer required.

Worked as expected - Light my fire

I was looking for something to turn on my fireplace through voice automation like "Hey Google". Nobody makes IoT relay devices that are controlled through Google or Alexa. My simple project worked with using a standard IoT Google/Alexa enabled Wall Plug, simple wiring into the 120V actuator and hooked the on/off switch for the fireplace through the 30A SPDT relay. When the wall plug is turned on it trips the relay and turns on the fireplace. Now I can "Hey Google, turn on Fireplace", "Hey google, Light my fire".

Check the coil voltage is correct

UPDATE#2: ended up replacing it with a nearly identical relay from an electronics distributor for CAD$7 + $8 shipping from the US (Picker brand in 3rd photo). It works! Nothing heard from Amazon's supplier; just returned the two pairs for refunds. Should be compensated for my troubles because of the mislabeled packages - not Amazon's fault.UPDATE: Nope - the relay itself is not mislabeled. The coil is definitely not 120VAC. I got chattering or no pull-in at all.Twice I've ordered the NT90-AC120V-10X pair of SPDT relays that are supposed to have 120VAC coils and the bag in which they are packaged has that part number on its label. However, the labelling on the relays themselves shows AC220V, not AC120V as pictured in the product description. I can hear the relay clicking when 120VAC is applied to the coil but it may not be strong enough pull in for the contacts to work reliably. I suppose it is possible that the relay does have a 120VAC coil and is mislabeled as having a 220VAC coil. Either way, I've little confidence it is going to work out in the long run. The load to be switched is just one small LED ceiling fixture (a few watts) and is not a critical application so we'll see how it goes. I like the size and packaging and it should fit readily into a 4" junction box.
