Q: Is this all metal or just coated plastic?

It may have been metal in the past (3yr old reviews say it was) but the one I just got today June 2021 is definitely plastic. Disappointed

Q: What studies are there that show this particular fidget cube is anti anxiety and depression?

Ever hear of "stress balls"? Same concept only requires more tatile interaction. If you want to know if this works for you, go to the store, get a stress ball squeeze it a minute, tgen go to to section, fiddle with legos, if you feel more relaxed with just the ball...this might stress you out, if you fekt more relaxed tinkering, this will work for you. If the bith helped, it will work for you but be sure to get a magnetic one since you probably will "squeeze" it during anxiety and magnetic ones have more resistance and durability. For me, they only work to relieve stress when i can toss it at the idiot causing it.........but do pretty good for distracting during anxiety causing events like elevators or dentist.

Q: Is this cube supposed to have loose joints? All of the joints on mine are so loose the cube is wobbly.

I dunno but mine is getting loose too but the action is still good enough to be happy with it.

Made of plastic, does not match description

Despite the description stating it is made of anodized aluminum alloy, it is made of painted sliver plastic. The hinges are black plastic as well. The package was opened and it looks a bit used and the paint is a bit worn, probably a used return item. The seller will deliver to you but the status will remain as shipping, making me unable to return it.
