Q: The description says dishwasher safe. I received it today and it says for best results hand wash. Does anybody put these in the dishwasher?

I’ve had this Lorren Set for over 10 years and have used on a daily basis. We have *always* put in dishwasher and haven’t seen any wear on the gold or print. This is a solid set.

Q: What all comes in the box? Details? and is this real bone china?

This is what was included in my set:8 dinner plates, 8 small plates (salad plates), 8 soup bowls (they're shallow with a smooth edge you can grip), 8 tea cups and saucers, 1 coffee/tea pot, 1 small oval platter (you could put a rotisserie chicken on it but not a turkey), 1 creamer/milk server, salt and pepper shakers, and 1 medium salad bowl. I'm unsure if the set it bone China, but still nice quality and my family is pretty heavy handed with our dinnerwear. Would highly recommend it if you entertain a lot. The design is even more elegant in person and there's a ridged texture on the edge that is nice. Hope that helps, I'd be happy to answers more questions! :D

Q: is it microwave safe?

Personal experience METAL of any kind will cause problems. ESPECIALLY if it can conduct electricity. Gold is a GREAT conductor. Lots of sparks flew off an antique plate my roomie put in the microwave before I could get to it. Saved all 3 things. His dinner, the plate ( about 75 y/o, and the microwave.

Q: What is the policy if received broken?

I don't think there is a warrant on the dishes, but you can always contact the seller.
