Great dryer with a few caveats

Great filament dryerI've used this dryer for a few weeks and I would recommend it with a few modificationsGreat feature set:1. Heats up all around the spool, so no concentrated hot spots2. Easy to use UI3. Includes a timer, temp control (upto 70c) and humidity readingCons:1. Doesn’t have a recirculating fan to move the humid air around2. No exhaust port to get rid of the moist airEasy fix: use a printed fixture to keep the lid propped open that can accept a Bowden tube to allow for air to recirculate inside the chamber.I recommend purchasing this product

Haven't gotten to test it. But looks and feels like great quality filament.

Came in well before my printer, but have it in my dry box ready to try out once that comes in. Looks to be great quality, and does not break under a single flex, like some cheaper filaments will. Haven't taken calipers to it yet, but appears to be very even throughout. Can't wait to use it!Also came much faster than expected.

This is great stuff!

This was my first experience with SUNLU and CF filament. I used a hardened .04 nozzle on my Ender 3. Bed temp 60 deg. and 220 to 225 deg. nozzle. I was so surprised to see the quality from this material. It's better then many of the standard PLAs I have used as far as finish and quality goes. If this came in all colors this is all I wold buy. My Ender 3 is minimally modified and there is nothing special about it. There is some stringing, but easy to clean up. Layers adhesion is great and it binds nicely to the bed. So far one and a half rolls in, and no clogs, or extrusion issues. VERY happy with this stuff!

It's ok....kinda

I go through a lot of sunlu. They are my goto for PETG and I order it in their 3 roll packs on amazon. I also order their wood filament in 10 spool packs from sunlu's website. I go through a lot of sunlu and I like them...so when I was looking for a matte black for a new duet box on my CR10V2, sunlu was an easy choice. One of the reasons I go through so much of their PETG is it usually shows up dry. Not always, but more often than any of the other brands I've tried..even at twice the price. Occasionally they show up wet so when the CF PLA was popping out of the nozzle and making gaps...I just took it out and put it in the Print Dry system without much thought. Problem was, the next day...same thing. So I dried it again....but it didn't change. Through the entire spool I got pops from the nozzle and gaps in the prints. Every spool I print is in the Polybox and fed to the Hemera by reverse bowden. I print mostly PETG so I'm in the habit of printing from that dry box so I just print everything from it. I'd be surprised if the gaps are from the filament being wet after 24hrs at 45C in the drier...but whatever it is, it's annoying. No company is perfect, and this is one spool of this CF PLA...but I doubt I will buy it again. The Duet box (on left in photo) turned out well regardless because I used Cura's fuzzy skin to mask the gaps. There is no way I could have kept the print without doing that.

prints like Carbon fiber PLA should. warning It sticks almost too well to the bed

Prints come out without any signs of warping issues at all. TLDR: don't use pva bed coating with this and a heated bed, it sticks too well. heated bed without coating works great for me.for almost all filaments I print I use a pva/water bed adhesion coating on a heated borosilicate glass bed on my ender 3 pro with E3D v6 hotend and 0.6mm nozzle. When I did so with this one one large prints I had to spend a good amount of time getting it off the bed without damaging it. I rate this at 5 stars because if I used a uncoated bed at heated 60c+ it prints large prints with good adhesion but comes off easily when it cools. I am still fine tuning my settings with Cura 4.8 but right now it seems 200-210c print temp and 60-70C bed temps with 100% flow is working flawlessly with the ~15 hours worth of prints I have done with it. doing 60mm/s right now but I tend to keep speeds slower then I need to; I suspect I could do 100mm/s on most prints.

Last spools I got are no better than regular PLA

When I initially purchased these Sunlu Carbon Fiber PLA they were really good, the last 3 spools I got seem they changed the formula or something but they are not good as carbon fiber PLA, even the color is shiny compared to the initial 6 I purchased that are more matte. The strength is the same as regular PLA (too soft) compared with the prints I made with the initial 6 spools I got. I hope they revise again the formula since it was a great product.
