I bought this item for my mum who was visiting as a gift. She took it home (which is a diferent country) and sadly could not get any coffee made. After a few more tries she still could not get anywhere with it. Fast forward to two years, as I am writing this review having tried it myself, I can confirm the coffee pot is not suitable for the intended purposes. All it does is evaporates the water and burns through the coffee with no other. result. The process involves the same steps as with my smaller version: water, roasted coffee on an open flame. All I got was steam.

One cup espresso coffee machine...perfect

The coffee-pot is great, just bear in mind 6 cup capacity is based on making espressos. You'll only get 1-2 UK mug sized cuppas, which suits me fine as I live alone .The milk frother needs batteries but there's no instructions which batteries are needed . I tried AA batteries and AAA batteries. They don't fit. Waiting to hear from supplier which batteries are needed.

The handle came broken, from time to time it gives it because the coffee does not go up, it boils and boils and the coffee never goes up. I don't know it's something very strange because of the rest of the things when he wants it goes well.

This was purchased as a present for friends. They love it and use all the time now. The coffee is very drinkable and it is so much easier to clean than a cafetiere.....you just tap the grounds out into the bin in one go!I believe you need to use a live flame to boil the water. Our friends have a gas top oven and you just have to watch that you don't forget it and let it burn dry. We only have a halogen top but bought one for ourselves for when camping and use our small portable gas burner.Great product.

Don’t waste your money. Very light. Lid is loose, it leaks as it gets hot, sucks quite a lot of grinds into the top if you let it draw all the water up. Today, 5 th time of using the filter and seal in the middle came away, and it doesn’t seem to stay in place now. I’ll stick will bialetti from now on.

Bought this after visiting friends, I am happy with the product and process for making coffee, I like the theatre of preparation and the distinctive flavour when making a brew this way.The milk frother was a bonus.
