This putty is amazing—Scarab is a stunning, color-shifting dream and the texture is smooth, stretchy, and super satisfying. It doesn’t leave my hands feeling gross like some other putties, and it’s become my go-to desk fidget.However… when it arrived, the tin had been upside down during shipping and the putty basically suctioned the lid shut. It took 20 minutes and my husband’s help to finally get it open. Once it settled back to the bottom, it was fine—but heads up, you might need backup the first time you try to open it.

I’ve never bought thinking putty before, but the doc prescribed something like this to a family member, wanting them to use it for strength and dexterity in their hands. I have sensory issues and whenever they weren’t using it, I would borrow it to squish to my heart’s content. When I saw this, I had to get it for myself.I’ve only just received it, so I can’t comment on whether or how quickly the colour fades. Out of the box, the colour is really beautiful. The consistency is perfect: based on other reviews, I was expecting it to be slimier than it is, and I’m glad that’s not the case.It’s getting the thing out of its tin that’s a challenge. Mine had leaked around the edge and dried, creating a sort of seal that made opening the tin even more difficult. Luckily, I had just ordered a spudger, and that made things a lot easier (see photo). But based on this experience, I’m being careful to keep the tin flat, which means I can’t just chuck it in my backpack. This is not okay. I will need to find a better storage solution, which is disappointing given the price tag.So why five stars? Because the squishy is super squishy and wonderful, and I couldn’t bring myself to subtract stars for the subpar tin.

Really nice super satisfying! when you play with it for a long time it turns grey because of air bubbles then when you let it sit it returns back to the original color! I will say that the metal tin does dent easily. Mine came dented so I can’t close the tin again….but it never dries up so it’s fine no scent at all it is a little expensive but you do get a lot.

Got this for my 9 year old daughter's birthday. She requested Crazy Aaron's Thinking Putty, so we chose the Super Scarab. She LOVES it and the color is so pretty. It's mesmerizing!!! My two older children and my husband and I have all asked to have a turn holding it, because it's just so pretty to look at with all of the different colors. It's very stretchy, durable, and does not stick to clothing or furniture like some putty and slime do! LOVE IT! Would definitely recommend. This would be great even for an older child, teen, or adult as a fidget/soothing toy.

I have a BFRB disorder, and was getting bad, so I started looking for something to keep my hands busy instead of doing destructive things. After deliberating for some time and reading practically all the reviews, I decided to invest in Crazy Aaron's Super Scarab Putty. It arrived two days later in an unnecessarily large cardboard box, which I promptly gave to my dog to shred. I opened the tin and had to spend a few minutes scraping the putty from the sides and top of tin, but after that it held its shape nicely.This putty was less malleable than I thought it would be. It was cold, so I had to clench it pretty tight and warm it up in my hands for it to start softening up. It easily molds to the shape of your hand, and if you put it down, it starts collapsing right away. If you leave it for a long while, it will flatten out completely in whatever container it's in. I did find the first few days the putty left a bit of a sticky residue on my hands, but that went away quickly. The color of the putty is very beautiful, and it shimmers in the right light. If you look at it from a certain angle, it will appear purple, but if you look at it from a different angle, it will appear blue. I find it very aesthetically pleasing.The only downside to this putty is the price. I feel like a fair price for this product would be around 6 - 8 dollars. But, the quality is nice and it works for the intent I purchased it, so I can't complain. (Side note: do not put this putty down on porous surfaces like fabrics, unfinished wood, etc. You'll end up with a stain and many tears)

I know this putty is sold as a toy, and I have bought it for kids' birthday gifts in the past. But when I broke my arm 3 months ago, and had distal radius repair (titanium plate installed) and carpal tunnel release surgery, I bought some for myself. I can work with the putty while on zoom meetings, it is really FUN to play with, and helps me stretch and strengthen my hand and fingers, which I could barely move after surgery. Now I am back to using both hands well. I use this as part of a serious hand rehab program that includes different exercises with putty. I just ordered Super Scarab and Sweet Surprise (with little items embedded in it) to give to my hand therapy team as a thank you gift. The putty is a little bit sticky, but that does not bother me. It is reminiscent of Silly Putty from years gone by, but infinitely cooler. Glitter, iridescent, glow in the dark, yes please! (I'm still a kid at hear, what can I say.) The putty does get softer as you work with it. Great desk toy, fidget toy, and hand rehab tool.

This has been the only fidget that works for my adhd son.
