Is the dried mold water resistant or will a wet casting material break down the detail in the mold?

Cold water is typically fine (such as to make an ice cube in the food contact safe ComposiMold, but it will break down over time in water, so do not immerse in water for long periods of time, and don't put in the dishwasher :) It is biodegradable. it does work very well with ComposiMold's Plaster of Paris or cements like our ComposiStone. Hello can i use a metal pan as mold form? or will it stick? is there a better material to use? silicone?

Yes, metal will work as a mold box. Use vegetable oil or mineral oil as a mold release, or any other mold release so the ComposiMold will come out of the pan. Tupperware, aluminum foil, plastics, all work for mold boxes. If you use cardboard, cover it with plastic (like a plastic bag) or aluminum foil. Thanks! Stan from ComposiMold

What is the volume of 6 lb composimold and us it compatible with urethane epoxy resins?

Hi N., ComposiMold has a density of 1.2 g/cc or 0.7 ounces per cubic inch, so 6 pounds is 6 lbs x 16 oz/lb = 96 ounces / (0.7 oz/in3) =137 in3 ( about 2.2 liters). It is compatible with both urethane and epoxy (two different resin systems). For ComposiMold, choose a urethane with a longer cure time. These create less heat as they cure. You can also experiment with freezing the mold prior to pouring higher temperature urethane resins. Be sure to use talc powder/baby powder as your mold release before each casting made.

And with epoxy resins, most epoxies will work. I don't recommend the epoxy resins designed for flooring because of the 3 day curing times. We do have ComposiCast Resin which works great. Tons of videos and free ebook available on website. Thanks! Stan from ComposiMold

Thanks for the question. Lots of ideas doe mold boxes, yes, Metal pan works, silicone trays, plastic cups, aluminum foil trays cardboard covered with plastic wrap,  some people like making lego boxes as mold boxes, cake pans work nice, thanks! Stan from ComposiMold
