Think about how you use a timer. You start it and stop it. If you're counting down you first enter the time to count down. If you're counting up you don't really enter anything. What you probably do the least, is switch between counting up (stopwatch) and counting down (timer) - you probably use the timer mostly in one of those two modes.So it's gonna surprise the crap out of you that that really large button you see in the photo, the one you're most likely to hit accidentally, switches the timing mode. And of course that will most likely interrupt you when you're actually timing a process. Then you can futz around with all the buttons trying to get back to where you were, while knowing that your timing process is down the toilet.Let me know if you don't think that's a stupid design.Otherwise it's a good and reliable timer.

The one we purchased was calibrated in 2014. by the time we received it, there are only 6 months left on its the "Cal. due" date.
