Works as expected , priced correctly.I would recommend this to loosen up soil, potentially around roots, etc.

I used the auger drill for placing fertiliser spikes, easier and faster that using a hammer. Just make sure you have a good grip on your drill with both hands and feed it slowly otherwise it will operate just like a screw. If this happens stop and reverse the drill and start again. As you are drilling pull up several times to clear the hole. Small rocks aren't a problem if you are feeding slowly but be ready to take your finger off the trigger or it will try to twist your arms off. Practice makes perfect. PS the 24" version worked best for placing fertilizer spikes. I also purchased a 9" version which was too short. Great for bulbs though.

I bought this because I have some hard ground areas that I wanted to plant some flower bulbs in. This worked fantastic and I was able to get perfect sized hole in seconds. It even broke up some small roots

These made planting bulbs much easier, but I did have a hard time getting it to stay in the drill.
