I bought a 100A unit, received a 100A unit. Picture showed 75A.

Yes AND no. It is not a jump starter but can re-charge a battery over time from being very weak. More info would be needed based on your situation.

Q: Can this be used to charge a battery overnight or will it overcharge/fry a battery?

You can charge a battery with this but the usage is more for a battery maintainer in programming in automotive vehicles.
