This is awesome
I have a set of Kyocera ceramic knives which are so sharp. Slice a tomato paper thin - everybody loves them. One started to get dull and I read that you cannot sharpen them at home. All a sharpener will do is remove chips. NOT TRUE. Six passes with the sharper returned the knives to their original sharpness. The instructions said this could also be used on conventional steel knives. YES! I sharpened all our steel knives and they are almost as sharp as the ceramic. The edge likely won't last as long but who cares! Six swipes with this little beauty and they are as good as new. We have Wustof knives and a couple of Wustof sharpeners. Power and manual. Threw them both out. Sorry Wustof but this sharpener is all I need.

Shattered
I carefully attempted to use this sharpener on my Kyocera Chefs Knife. The edge of the knife started chipping away down it's length. I had to dispose of the knife- damaged and unsafe.I am quite good with mechanical things, and I followed the provided instructions. Is this product really for ceramic knives?

Surprise! Surprise!
I ordered this in November as a Christmas gift. I didn't open the original packaging until I got ready to wrap it. I didn't open the box with the sharpener, just wrapped it. When my husband opened the box, it was to discover there were 10 sharpeners in the box. Gifts for everybody!BTW, the sharpener works great.

Nice Sharpener for Ceramic Knives
I have two ceramic kitchen knives that are several years old. I used this sharpener on them and it made quite a difference, returning the edges to sharpness not had in a while.

Good, but not worth the buy
This items was purchased as a "just in case" it is necessary to sharpen my Kyocera and Kikusumi ceramic knives. It seems unnecessary, however, as the ceramic knives I bought 8 years ago are still as sharp as ever. I still plan on keeping this "just in case." I know that what's pictured last are steel knives, which were left to me by the previous homeowner, but hey this sharpens those as well. Those knives were previously sharpened with the KitchenIQ edge grip 2-stage knife sharpener. They were really dull, especially the butcher knife on top. This Kyocera sharpener did improve their edges. However, for 3x the price, it's not very noticeable.

Not a good sharpener
This did not sharpen my Kyrocera knives well. I understand they never will get as sharp as they were originally, but this product was not helpful in maintaining them. I had to order new knives and a better sharpener.
