Works fine with Home Assistant
Remember this item is a sensor - not an all in one logging / recording / graphing system. You need something else - a hub or a controller for example - to save and display your electricity consumption readings. There is a button on the back of the Energy Meter that you press during initial set-up to connect it with your hub. As a warning to others I got this wrong to start with. It needs the lightest of presses to start the set-up process; just push and immediately release. Until I got the hang of this I was pressing it for too long (and a long press does someting else), so initially I was somewhat frustrated with it. But once I realised what I was doing wrong it was a breeze to set-up and has been logging away happily ever since.

Not sure
Easy to install but needs to be near power supply, may need extension lead. Think it works OK, not all smart plugs link to it, not sure why, all same brand. More research needed.

Basic
This device is ok but not great. Highly over priced for what it can do.If you've got a smart meter, the in home display you get with them gives far more info than this.Links up to the Aeotec smartthings hub fine but doesn't give you much details. You get current data & that's it. No historical data for the past week, day, month etc just what you're using now & what you've used overall since day one unless you tell it to reset every day or monthApparently you can link it into other software for these features like monthly breakdowns of watts & costs etc but there's no literature explaining how or where to get this software from, even on Aeotec's own site. You would think with the device being Aeotec & linking up to an Aeotec hub you would get full use but obviously not.Compared to the emporia one which shows all the historical data you need without any additional software or drivers.Overall expensive & basic

Works with Z-Wave USB Stick in Home Assistant
Was very easy to setup and install into the main electrical box. If you dont know what you're doing get a professional in! Only hiccup i had was i put the clamp the wrong way round as i didn't read the manual so got negative values, after flipping that over the values were correct. Very happy with this. Only issue i cant figure out is why im not getting a amps reading, Mine just stays at -7.03A im sure i will figure it out eventually.

Useless
So - can I fit it myself - no because the big wires are too big, I need to attach it to the smaller big wire's in the consumer unit. £50 for an electrician.Does it work after that? No, because you need to buy a dongle.Does it work after that?No because you need some software. You can find the software at the aeotec website. You need help, the aeotec website has a chat help. Does that work? No. There is a 404 error. You find a 'if your a beginner use this' software. It's baffling. I'm OK with this sort of thing, I build websites with no difficulty, but this is baffling. Is there help? There's a wiki. But it's no help.So I am £200 in and have literally no idea. And I'm outside the return window. There's no help, no beginners guide. Nothing. And, I have never had to turn my computer on and off so many times ever.

Works Well but rather expensive.
Six months later and still working very well.Using it to track my daily power usage with IFTTT and Webcore.Does what it says on the tin.Connected to SmartThings no issue.Pricey but all smart stuff seems to be at a premium.

Bit bigger than expected
Item was bigger than expected, but my consumer unit was big enough that I was able to squeeze it in.The clamp wasnt able to go over the incoming power cable whilst the cable still had its grey outer sheath on. I stripped back the grey a bit further and then the clamp was able to clamp around the Brown live cable.Connected to smartthings and have it reporting current energy usage at 30 second intervals.

Not very accurate
The product came with the box already opened, although I was excited to install it - I didn’t really worry too much. Once installed via home assistant it did what it said on the box and was tracking power output. I have a smart meter so I could track exactly what power was being used and the Aeotec meter measured 200w under what I was actually using which is a significant amount. So the accuracy wasn’t that good as over a month that’s a significant amount. Now it’s fair to say that upon inspection the magnet in the clamp was broken - (was split in two) - I assume the item I was sent was a return that was just sent on to me... so I have no idea if a broken magnet would have been affecting the results of the sensor? But I have now had a refund and really don’t want to buy a new one just in case the results are the same. As it wouldn’t benefit me being so far out from my actual usage.
