Just ordered my fifth sensor pair. That will make four alarms and five sensor pairs for me. Note this item is just for the sensor pair, no alarm included ( that should be obvious ).Why do I like it? It works. Reliably. With sensors mounted properly, there are no alarms from wildlife, just from people and vehicles. Well, it would catch a moose, but we don't have any of those here. Can't speak to 1/2 mile range, but my farthest sensor pair is 500 feet away on the other side of a small hill and with plenty of trees between the sensors and the receiver. I like that the battery backup for the receiver enables you to take the receiver out to where the sensors are so you can reprogram the "tune" for that sensor pair. Otherwise the programming would be very cumbersome instead of merely cumbersome. So far the solar power charging has worked, even with some sensors mounted in the woods with little direct sunlight. Each sensor pair must be aligned, and that can be tricky as they have to be mounted at the proper angle to each other in order to line up, but fortunately the digital display ( 100+ ) will tell you when they are aligned properly.What don't I like? Just the challenge to assign tones ( tunes ) to each sensor pair ( TX ). You get 35 tones and have to program each receiver ( RX ) to each sensor pair, that is 20 programming efforts for my 5 TX and 4 RX ( 5 x 4 = 20 ). You have to go through each tone until you get to the one you want. There are much better ways to design this feature. That said, it is still worth the effort.One final note. I mount all of mine on 4 x 4 or 6 x 6 posts. The included mounting hardware is good quality but did not meet my needs, so I used four industrial strength 1" x 4" velcro strips on each sensor. That has worked well for me.

a little difficult to align but works great

The manuel is not detiled enough in certain areas, You have to take a few Guesses & Play with it to Finally get it right.... Sensitivity is very good...

I have had these installed for two years, they are fantastic.You MUST spend the time to align them properly, and also make sure the sun does not wash it out as it rises or sets. But if installed correctly these things are amazingly reliable.The only time these get set off by anything other than a person is when a very large piece of debris blows through, or when the fat pigeons land and block all three beams, but these are not the fault of the sensors.

Usfull

This is the second set of sensors I have purchased to increase my property security. So far, they are performing as described. I have had this system for two months and having no problems. The 3 beam system prevents false alarm unlike the false alarms a motion detector would give you. I have also added a smart plug that give me the ability to turn the alarm on or off. I have set the smart plug to automatically turn the system on at night and off during the day. In addition, I have added an IP auto dialer so get I can get notification with phone calls, text messages, and emails.

This product doesn't work.

This is my 3rd driveway alarm and it works better than a much more expensive unit that had annoying false alarms and needed battery changes every 6 months.I installed the HTZSAFE Solar system 6 months ago and it has worked reliably with NO false alarms. My installation: The sensors are almost 1/4th mile from the house; the receiver is mounted on a 2nd floor outside wall (drywall, dense insulation, 3/4” plywood & siding); has line of sight through 2 trees.Operation has been very reliable even with dense foliage on trees and has had NO false alarms.The attached photo shows location of sensors (at bushes near paved road)

Item does not work. It powers up, but he initial sequence to align beam sensors does not work. The LCD does not lock over 100 and just randomly jumps between numbers.I thought It might have been my receiver so I purchased a replacement together with another identical Beam Sensor. The beam sensor aligns perfectly and communicates with the new receiver.I would like a replacement or return, but Amazon say my 'return window' has passed. How do I return a defective item under Sales of Goods Act?
