Great quality, effortless to use, and cuts possibly 2X faster than my foil shaver
Have had for less than a month, and so far, this Norelco 2400 shaves amazingly fast and does not leave any patchy areas that I have to pass over again and again like some shavers require, like another brand rotary shaver that I just returned. Only once did I get this one to pull/snag a hair, but I was testing it by moving it crazy-fast over a several day hair growth, and finally made it do so. Otherwise, under normal use, it never snags hair. For several day hair growth, I probably should pass over my face first with beard clippers, but this does great on 2 or 3 day length hair. It probably doesn't shave as microscopically close as a foil, but it shaves close enough that I'm not using the foil shaver anymore. It also cuts the laid-down, longer hairs that a foil shaver cannot cut.

Great shaver for those longer whiskers. Quiet too.
Excellent shaver. Very quiet and does an adequate job. I still need to use my Braun shaver for locations where I want a really close shave, but this shaver is much quicker and can handle the longer whiskers better (I don't shave every day).I'm very happy to see that it has a NiMH battery. Better battery than Lithium Ion when you have a high-drain application (like running a motor). Also charges much faster. When I was looking at shavers with Li+ batteries, I saw 8 hours charging for 40 minutes of use. This shaver with the NiMH battery charges in 1 hour for 30 minutes of use. And - yes - I did test that. I got 58 minutes to a full charge (from 0) and then ran it for 26.5 minutes. Close enough. Not to mention that Li+ batteries drained down to 0 (like, say, when your shaver accidentally gets turned on in your luggage), are damaged. NiMH batteries should be drained to 0 once in a while to help with longevity. In case you're wondering - I worked in an electronics testing facility for years. I ran tests on battery charging and discharging systems.

Good razor at a fair price.
Good razor not great. Price is fair. Functions all work. My two complaints are: You have to purchase a power adapter to plug the usb cord into an electrical outlet. And motor feels week, I own an older Norelco that I use for traveling. It feels like it is more powerful.

Go rotary-save your hearing!
I just got the Norelco 2400 today, it shaved my two day growth surprisingly easily. The shave was as close as my Braun shaver, but admittedly, not as close as a blade. That is OK. I got it hoping it would be as good as the Braun because Rotary shavers are dramatically quieter than any reciprocating shaver. Let me explain. I am older, and use hearing aids due to noise related hearing loss. I can’t afford to lose any more hearing. The old shaver was like a jet engine noise as I shaved near my ears. This one is a quiet hum, that alone is worth it for me.An added bonus is that it shaves comfortably, charges quickly and his water resistant. I will be very interested to see if it continues to shave as well as it did today my first time with it, as the rotary cutters get a little dull and gummed up with use. I plan on ordering some replacement cutter heads to have ready when the shave quality starts to deteriorate. The shaver is an excellent value, giving me a surprisingly good shave. And, it is quiet! Saves my remaining hearing and as an added bonus lets the early morning household sleep in.Oh, one more thing. To those reviewers that complained that it doesn’t work while plugged in, understand that some customers might not be savvy enough to realize that bringing a plugged in shaver into the shower might not be good, even though it’s just a 5 V USB charge. The shavers that are ok to use wet are designed not to work while plugged in due to safety reasons.

Better than i thought it would be.
This is the first electric shaver i've ever used so i can't compare but i think it does a great job. I don't have to fool with shaving cream or even wetting my face. I just run this over my face and i'm good to go. I find it works better if i hold it lightly over the skin. If i press down too hard, it doesn't shave as smoothly. And the shave is smoother than i thought i would get with an electric razor. Is it QUITE as smooth as i used to get with my old manual razor? Nope. Do i care? Nope. It's plenty close enough and i save a lot of time. For the price, it's well worth it.

time will tell
not sure about this one, the battery was completely dead when i got it usually a battery operated devise has at least a small charge, but i charge it up and it's been awhile since I've used a rotary type shaver i remember them being much faster and this one you have to use more force on your face to get it to cut. i always used my old one skipping a day here and there opting for the real razor. time will tell i guess.

Great shaver
Can't beat the value. I believe that this model although cheaper than some of the other Norelco models shaves just as well as those. I replaced the blades on my old shaver with generic blades and the shaver didn't shave as close and it pulled on the hairs around my mustache. This new shaver works perfectly.

Excellent shave rivaling a blade, but not crazy about the charging
Why did you pick this product vs others?:The motor in this runs at a much higher speed than my prior Norelco razor that bit the bullet, and it literally takes half the time for me to shave and it’s much closer as well — it rivals shaving with a blade, which I think is pretty impressive. One thing I’m not crazy about is it comes with a USB charging cord and doesn’t come with an adapter, and I’d much rather just have a regular wall plug. Also, you can’t use the razor when it’s plugged in probably because it can be used wet or in the shower and they had to protect against stupid people electrocuting themselves. It flashes orange when it’s getting low so that’ll help not running out of charge so it should be ok, but due to these charging limitations I subtracted a star. I’ve only used it three times but it’s still going strong so I’ll see how long it lasts and update. But from a pure shaving standpoint I’m very happy with the performance and would highly recommend it from that perspective.
