Works Wonderfully with ROS 2 Jazzy on my Turtlebot4 "clone"
Cheaper/smaller than the Turtlebot4 standard RPLIDAR A1 with no exposed moving parts. Supposedly it takes 230mA where the A1 only draws 100mA, but with the C1 and an Oak-D-Lite, the Raspberry Pi 5 only draws 1.5A running SLAM.The ROS 2 driver is sllidar_ros2 (not rplidar_ros) so it takes a little configuration to use with the stock turtlebot4 bringup, but it works wonderfully - worth the work for me.

Incredible performance for the price
If you plan to use this indoors with ROS and within spec, you'll be very happy. It's a polished product with good documentation. It does not work well outside during the day however. Look at the S3 if that's your use case.

Well made but no Instructions...
First impressions, this is a well made unit, quality manufactured with a great fit and finish. Just cool looking if you ask me. Quality cables as well. Of course it comes with an adapter board, gotta have that. Even includes a USB cable.Sadly, it comes with no paperwork in the box, no instructions, not even a thank you for giving us money note. Pretty lazy. Being that this is not exactly a plug-n-play device, buyers are going to need some help. As the other reviewer said, the QR codes do not work. I only get text after scanning. And after going through the hassle of typing in the URL on the box, it just goes to a completely blank page. Many dead links on the wiki as well. So, not only do they NOT tell you how to use the product, you are left to your own to figure it out. Really? Plain lazy.I believe I have it working and it does seem to work okay, but can't give too much feedback because I need to figure out more how to use it. Kind of frustrating. While it seems like a good sensor, it would not be my first choice, unless you are well versed with these kinds of devices.

Good sensor, awful documentation
The product listing says WayPonDEV and the packaging and "user guide" that come with it say "youyeetoo", but the user guide isn't for a LIDAR sensor and the QR code on the package takes you to a blank wiki page. The youyeetoo website has no useful documentation on the device and no software downloads, but it does give you enough information to determine that it's a SLAMTEC RPLIDAR C1.On SLAMTEC's site you can get the datasheets and manuals, and their RoboStudio software will let you test out the sensor. Selecting the serial port for your sensor is not an obvious thing - I flailed around for a bit trying to get it to find the sensor and I think I had to double click something in the LIDAR panel before it came up with a menu that let me select the COM port.SLAMTEC's documentation includes the serial interface protocol for the sensor and a C++ SDK, which is what I was after. It's going to take a while to integrate it into a robot project but it does seem to be working as advertised.

Great Product
It was delivered earlier than I thought, great product and as a robotics engineer I do believe this will make me achieve endless benefits.
