Generally, it works well. However I did find that in some cases it required a fair amount of hand strength to close, even after adjusting the crimp strength dial. It is important to use the right size connector for a given wire diameter. The stripper works, but as the instructions say, it does not work well on teflon coated electrical wire.

The media could not be loaded.  I'm a bit new to wire crimping since I'm used to just solder them or use all kinds of connectors, wire ties, etc. For stripping I've been mostly just using knives, side cutters, or wire strippers that could be found on typical electrician pliers. However, I'm getting more into electrical work now for a few house projects, auto, and equipment repair projects and am just getting tired of using those basic tools I've used before. So I decided to order this set of crimping pliers and wire strippers. It seemed to include the most I would need. I also liked it comes with a nice plastic case that can be used to keep everything organized and in one place. It makes it very portable as well which is another big thing for me. The tools and dies appear of high quality. I like the quick and simple release of the crimping dies in the main tool. Everything is very straightforward and easy to operate even for me being inexperienced with these kinds of tools. I was very impressed with how nicely and easily the wire stripper does its job. It cuts the wires good too. Same goes for the crimping tool. There six different dies, each with a few pockets to cover various wire gauges. There is also a quick reference card that comes with this set that shows which dies should be used for various wire terminals. The only two minor complaints I have after using this set are the markings. I think it would be much nicer if die sets on the reference card were marked with the corresponding die number (e.g. H1, H2, etc.). Currently, they are just pictured so you'd have to figure out buy how they look instead. The markings on the stripping tool are not painted but just stamped in the plastic handle so there is not much contrast and a bit harder to read them. Finally, the individual pockets in each crimping die are marked with numbers instead of wire gauges. I suspect those refer to wire area in mm square. I think marking them with wire gauge numbers instead or in addition would've been way better. Again, those are just minor complaints and I believe the tool set is awesome. I'm very happy I got it and will be using it now for my electrical projects.

Good die set and decent tools. Love that it includes a case, but it's a little cheap and overkill in size. The dies are nice and easy to exchange, but I find myself using just one 95% of the time. Also, they don't get small enough for my smaller, RC electronics connectors unfortunately. I can make them work, but it's not great. I get much better results with properly sized dies.The crimper is good and easy to use. I wouldn't call it comfortable if having to do a massive amount of crimps back to back. But for the occassional few it works fine. The wire stripper is great if you've never used one like this. There's a bit of a learning curve so practice before using. And when it works it works incredibly. So easy and flawless. However, when it doesn't work (perhaps user error) it can be clunky and cut too deep. It shines with solid wire. Stranded wire can be a little problematic though.Occassionally it'll cut too deep and take some strands with it. Not sure if it's me, the different types of insulation or what. Still, it's pretty amazing that this thing automatically adjusts for the different gauges of wire and cuts them. It's magical really. And I'd say this tool is the highlight of the set. But if you've used this kind of stripper and it's not for you I'd advise against this kit. The crimper isn't exceptional, the die variety is good but not great, and the stripper doesn't always work great. At least in my amateur experience.But for my occasional usage this kit is fantastic.
