Great Magnetic Tile Starter Pack!
This Connetix Pastel Starter Pack, 64 Pieces, is a great way to get started with magnetic tiles. The piece count is high enough to spur creativity without getting bored and opens the door for expansion to more sets. The most important feature to consider when choosing magnetic tiles is safety. Connetix tiles are made with food grade non-toxic plastic that is BPA, lead and phthalate free. The tiles are riveted together at the corners and are not sharp in any way. This Connetix Pastel Starter Pack includes six different pastel colors; and while they are not as bold as the rainbow colors, they are still quite beautiful. Each tile has a unique bevel that creates an almost concave center. I think this not only enhances durability, but also helps to maintain the clarity of the tiles. In my opinion, the magnetic strength of Connetix tiles is the best among all brands because they use the largest and strongest magnets. This allows for large, stable and secure builds. As for price, I think it’s important to consider it on a per tile basis. This set runs about $1.48 per tile, which is in line with other top brands. If you opt for a larger set, you will find that the price per tile will likely be less expensive. In general, magnetic tiles are not cheap. Connetix is a premium, top of the line brand, and as such, so is the price. As for compatibility, Connetix is compatible with Magna-Tiles, and likely many other off-brands. That being said, I recommend choosing a high-quality set like Connetix and investing in the brand. There are just so many different sets (ball run!) to branch out to from here. This set is Made in China, and comes in a nice, reusable cardboard box. It also includes an inspiration book with some ideas to get started.Overall, I have found Connetix to be my favorite brand of magnetic tiles. If you are looking to choose a magnetic tile and willing to make the investment, you simply cannot go wrong with Connetix.

Timeless tiles that will last for years teaching a variety of STEAM skills …
All kinds of children around me are fascinated by magnetic tiles. There are different brands, but Connetix is a good one. This is a pastel starter kit with 64 pieces, but little ones don’t care what color they are. We do have some in a bin at my grandson’s house. He first became enamored with them when he played with them at a friend’s house. From toddlers to adults, these tiles have a lot of appeal.I have a friend I gifted a similar set to years ago. The boy is now an adult and has very fond memories of them. They are, by default, pick up a lot of skills by using them. With the set I gifted, only one broke over the years. That will tell you just how solid they are. I don’t have to tell anyone how great these tiles are because they already know. I’ll list the STEAM skill set below from the cover of the box.STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics)• Problem Solving• 2D and 3D Shapes• Quantity• Number sense• Spatial Reasoning and Awareness• Geometry• Weight• Stability• Cause and Effect• Symmetry• Colors• Magnetic Force• Properties of Materials• Patterns• Balance• Self-Esteem• Grow and Fine Motor Skills• Cooperation• Lateral Thinking and Planning Skills• Teamwork• Language• Communication• Perseverance• Hand0eye Coordination• One-to-One Correspondence

One of the best
It's expensive for a set of 64 tiles, since you can get it for less with some other brands. However, I do feel like the quality is superior than the other brands, and the colors are beautiful! My toddler saw these and I can tell that she prefers these to the other tiles she has. The solid pastel is cool in the light, and kids and adults both enjoy using these to build. The screws feel secure, and I think actually adds to the aesthetic of it. Overall, I really like these and it's a great starter pack.

rugged toy but expensive
pros---great toy---indestructible---nice colors---64 pieces is enough pieces to build a lot of stuff---even little tykes can build things because the magnets make joining pieces easy---these keep my grandkiddos busy for a long timecons---expensive....too expensive, IMHO, so I subtracted one star
