Share a hilarious and joyous holiday with the kids from the hit TV series RECESS as they convince the Third Street Elementary School teachers that miracles really do come true at this special time of year. When Principal Prickly's car gets stuck in the snow, he unfairly blames the RECESS gang. But as he and his marooned passengers, Miss Finster and Miss Grotke, start to relive their students' outrageous escapades, a new truth emerges: these kids are both naughty and nice. Featuring a special RECESS rendition of "Jingle Bells" and the impressive voice talents of Dick Clark, Robert Goulet, and James Earl Jones, this fun-filled holiday adventure brings out the Santa in everyone!

Miracle on Third Street!
First of all, this is a REGION ONE DVD, so make sure you are able to play it before you buy it.I count myself as being one of the biggest fans of 'Recess', one of my favourite Disney cartoons that made such a big impression on me as a child. 'Miracle Of Third Street' (like so many of the straight-to-DVD Recess movies) is a little bit disappointing. This isn't an all new adventure featuring your favourite characters. It is another compilation film featuring old episodes as flashbacks, mixed in with new animation. The episodes were great though, 'Weekend At Muriel's' and 'Principle For A Day' are classics (and it's good to have them on DVD), however, they have nothing at all to do with Christmas, despite the misleading title and DVD cover. The new 'story' consists of the teachers being stuck in the snow at Christmas time, Principle Prickly and Miss Finster keep harping about how misbehaved the kids are, but Miss Grotke is always there to remind them of how they aren't all bad (this is where the old episodes come in).The final episode however IS Christmas related, and a classic. 'Yes Mikey, Santa Does Shave' is quite touching and one of the highlights from Recess's entire run.The film ends on a highlight, with the gang singing their own version of 'Jingle Bells', describing their classmates and teachers in the lyrics.Despite it not living up to all of my expectations, 'Miracle on Third Street' is the best of all the Recess DVDs. Fans will enjoy the new stuff, and love the old episodes. However, if you are looking for a completely new film, you might be disappointed.
