Quality and great price
Quality made as usual it is likely Chinese as the Chinese manufacturing has increased it's standards of product and style for Western markets, which is great because we get products like this that are really useful, work perfectly while looking and feeling professional. Lightweight but not cheap feeling, for the price another fantastic product that I wouldn't normally buy but will also last me for the rest of my life.I bought it to use for rewiring my guitar but having bought a solder iron as well, I might get into basic electronics and have some fun making some basic circuits while using this to keep me safe from harmful accidents. The screen is large and the display is easy to read while the dial has so many different options really a professional or an electrician would know better what they will all be used for.The leads are good quality and strong and plug easily into the meter when needed.Another great product from Chinese manufacturing, thanks

Ridiculously good value for money
Having been involved in (electronic) instrument technology in the past, I found myself becoming a bit of an equipment snob. Tektronix for oscilloscopes, Keysight/Agilent or Rhode & Schwarz for spectrum analysers, Fluke for Digital Multimeters etc. These things cost many hundreds at a minimum and many (many) tens of thousands at the top end. And then we have this AstroAI which I bought for £8.49.It does everything it is supposed to, does everything a Fluke Multimeter (which I also have but wanted something more chuck-around-able) does. I am actually quite shocked as I thought anything at this price must be some sort of junk prize from a Christmas cracker but it's not. It's a fully functioning Digital Multimeter for the price of a Big Mac and Fries.I haven't tested the full accuracy yet but it is accurate enough for the majority of tasks outside of a laboratory and certainly for working on the car or around the house it is more than sufficient. Having only had it a short time I cannot attest to the reliability but at the price, even if conks out eventually, it is not exactly going to be a financial disaster. So yes, if you need to measure the mains, a voltage across or current flowing through/to a battery, check switches, fuses, appliances, check which wires are connected to which others in your car/house etc, I can recommend this unit. It even has a backlight so you can do it in the dark!

Simple, cheap - for the amateur
I wanted this to test my car battery, I don't need an expensive FLUKE etc and I am not a professional! So for the DIYer probably this is sufficient, I'd appreciate clips rather than just prongs as its safer and easier to use and would cost a few peanuts more. Does the job, compact but would be better is a soft pouch was included to keep it plus the leads in.

Cheap, perfectly acceptable quality and accuracy for home use. Recommended.
Very cheap, reasonably accurate, small and does what it says on the tin. You're not going to use this to help test and design the latest iPhone, but if you fix electrical equipment at home, or work on car electrics, this is a perfectly adequate tool. Even the stand works OK.

Astroni digital multimeter.
Excellent piece of kit. Purchased to check out car battery and charging function. Worked perfectly and gave the results I needed. Considering the price/quality an excellent addition to the tool bag. Small compact with a variety of uses.

AstroAI Digital Multi Meter, DMM
The purchased of this DMM was mainly influenced by the purchase of another AstroAI product reviewed elsewhere. I was so impressed by their 'unique' tyre air compressor that I wondered if AstroAI also marketed a basic DMM that I could also carry in my car. They do, this is it.The AstroAI DMM lacks the uniqueness of its tyre inflator and is reminiscent of older multi-meter (DMM) designs that are based upon a simple, single-dial design plus a button, or two. This is not a criticism but rather an endorsement that simplicity often results in fault-free operation and zero learning time. The AstroAI DMM is typical of this basic design of which there are a great many available. I am pleased to see the lack of dedicated sockets for testing transistors which hark back to multi-meter designs (analogue MMs) decades old.Selection of a suitable DMM was made difficult by the number of choices available and I was guided by the range of measurement options, simplicity of operation and above all cost. The Amazon illustrations fail to give an impression of the look-and-feel, weight and size of the DMM and I gambled upon the AstroAI DMM being small, pocketable and lightweight. I was not disappointed. The DMM is fairly thick but once again this is not a criticism. It's bulk makes it easy to handle/grip and to accommodate the large Lithium PP9-sized 9V battery. Many of the newer, slimmer DMMs use button cells. The DMM case is robust and designed to take knocks and drops. The range of measurements possible with the AstroAI are fairly typical and a good selection to suit most needs. The LCD can be backlit and readings 'held', if required. A pair of probe leads are included. The only thing missing, in my opinion, is a case to hold the DMM and its probe leads. However, this omission is very common and I usually resort to purchasing a strong domestic container of the type usually used to seal and store food. The price of the AstroAI DMM is another factor but there are many in the same price bracket. Being 'low cost' does not necessarily equate to cheapness (e.g. poor build quality) and the AstroAI is definitely not cheap. I eventually made my decision to buy the AstroAI DMM based upon my previous experience of the their air compressor, being low cost and a superb performer. Recommended.
