Top-Tier Home Safety with Smart Features—but Pricey
Installed this 5-pack of X‑Sense smoke and carbon monoxide detectors with the base station in our home, and the setup couldn’t have been smoother. Each unit paired quickly, the app is intuitive, and when one alarm goes off, they all sound together—plus you get a clear smartphone alert. Knowing exactly which unit triggered the alarm (via room naming in the app) is a game-changer. The detectors are battery-powered (lasting up to 10 years) and include photoelectric sensing that reacts fast to both smoke and CO . I appreciate that you can test and silence alarms remotely—no more climbing ladders just to hush a false alarm. Why it's not a full 5 stars: It’s a bit pricey, and there’s occasional nagging in the app about subscribing to their Protect+ monitoring service. But in terms of reliable detection, smart integration, and peace of mind—it’s definitely worth it.

Work fantastic and I love how the app works
This is a great kit and I installed a total of 8 of these for all around coverage of my home. They are easy to pair and install and I really like how the hub can talk to you when your pairing these to let you know everything is setup. The hub can be installed anywhere in your home and it's super simple to get connected to your network with the mobile application. The mobile application is also leaps and bound better than the cheap Smart Life wifi detectors I had previously got several reasons.First you can test each alarm remotely with the app so no need to stretch to reach the test button or grab a step stool.Second when one is triggered the notification to your phone is instant and it tells you the exact one that was triggered so no guessing. The hub also communicates that information as well.Third the app shows you in real time what the detectors are detecting smoke and CO wise so if you ever smell something you can just open the app and put your mind at ease that something isn't burning. The one fires all fires works great as well during my testing when one fires the others all fired within two seconds which is perfect. I also like how I can silence the alarms via the app instead of trying to reach for a hush button on the alarm itself. As you can tell the app really sets these apart from the competition. Now and most importantly here is how they perform, to test the sensors I took a burning candle, blew it out then let the smoke hit the detector and it fired within seconds of that which is awesome. Next step wa shaving my wife use a pan and burn some butter, this would normally set of nuesent alarms with my old ones but these could tell the difference and did not fire.Final test was CO which to me is the most important part since you can't smell or detect it. To test these I took a propane torch and held a metal bucket over the flame to capture the exhaust wearing a pair of gloves. I then put my dedicated first alert CO detector in the buck while it was upside down to make sure their was CO which there was. I then got the buck right under the detector and then flipped it over so the fumes in the bucket would rise to the detector and within a few seconds it fired as CO alarm with the levels it was showing being nearly the same as my first alert one. I also really like how the app told me it was CO vs. smoke. So bottom line this works fantastic, the app is awesome and they are affordable.

That these detectors are 2nd to none
I was in the bathroom when these detectors went off. These X-Sense smoke and carbon monoxide detector are absolutely fantastic! It provides reliable and accurate detection, giving me peace of mind at home. The installation was super easy, and the sleek design fits perfectly with my home decor. The loud alarm is effective, and the battery life lasts a long time, so I don't have to worry about frequent replacements. Overall, it’s a top-quality safety device that I highly recommend to everyone.

Installation over older, hardwired alarms is painfully slow
Setting up the base system & adding each alarm to the overall system was very easy. So far as I can tell (and hope) they function properly. HOWEVER, installing them in place of our older, hardwired alarms was needlessly tedious and messy. The new base plates are not drilled to attach directly to an electrical box. No problem, thought I, let's just mark and drill new holes in the base plates. Well, no matter how much I twisted & turned the existing base plates, I could not find a pattern the avoided the twist-lock hooks for the new alarms. Thus, I had to drill new holes in the ceiling and use the drywall anchors to attach the base plates over the electrical boxes. This was also difficult because 2 of the 3 the holes ended up perilously close to the old electrical box.It would have been so helpful if the alarms and base plates had been designed to optionally attach to an electrical box. Had that been the case I'd give these a 5 star ratingFinally, all 5 are up and appear to be functioning as they should

Easy to install and seem like quality devices.
Install pretty easily (I wish the base had holes drilled for an outlet box), add to the app/base easily, and seem well made. Can't say how well they detect smoke and I hope I never find out.

Love the app dashboard and networked connection.
I love that these have both smoke and CO2 detection capability. But the networked connection and the app dashboard are the real heroes here. Thankfully these alarms havent notified us a of a fire, and I hope they never do. But the fact that they'll all sound in unison guarantees everyone in the house will know if a fire actually does break out. And the app makes it easy to check on each unit's battery life. Its kind of pricey, but so worth it to protect my family.

Easiest install
This system installed and set up super simply and fast. Better than any other electronic device in recent memory. Assuming they actually detect and alarm (hope I don't find out), they are the best.

Economical and easy to install combination alarm
I have these installed on three floors of the house, with the hub in a room on the top floor. All of the devices check in to the hub, without issue. The app lets you organize and monitor the devices easily. Be aware that the devices do not fit on a standard electrical box, if you're replacing a wired set of detectors. The do, however, cover them completely. It's easy to install them in drywall with the supplied screws and anchors.
