One dongle for them all!
I love this thing, it's small, and it works flawlessly with my Nintendo Switch and Macbook. It has really everything I need for traveling. I usually need display output and to plug in one flash-drive every once in a while while working on-site, so one HDMI and one USB A are perfect on my Macbook Air with just USB C ports. I also like bringing my switch when I travel and now I can use it with the hotel TV which is excellent. Two things I did notice though:I purchased 2 of these, and one of them works flawlessly. The other one straight out of the box would have video cut out every couple seconds, but I returned it for another new one (through Amazon for free) and that new replacement one works flawlessly. Also secondly, the OEM Nintendo Switch dock that came with the Switch outputs a perfect image to my 1080P 75" TV, but this dongle actually overscans the screen a bit, so the edges are cut off. I have fixed this by going into the Switch settings and adjusting the "Screen Size" setting to 96%, and it looks perfect with the dongle after doing that. I'm not sure if this is an issue with the dongle itself or something else going on with the TV or Switch though. Not really a big deal anyway since it's a quick fix.

Work with Nintendo switch if..........
For anyone looking to use this with Nintendo switch, this will work as long as you plug in the other USB C port as your charging port.I couldn’t make it work just by plugging this directly to the switch via HDMI to the TV but once I used the other port as charger, it worked like a charm 😀This device will charge the switch and also enable u to project the video into your TV or monitor via HDMI.FYI, this worked with my MacBook Pro 2019 and iPad Pro WITHOUT having to plug in one of the ports as your charger.Simply plug in the device to you iOS usb type c enabled devices, plug in your HDMI cable to your monitor/TV and whoalaaaa it works 😀 the only device I’ve tried so far the REQUIRES power is the switch 😀I have the Nintendo switch dock but wanted a way to project the switch to the other TVs we have without having to move the dock so this device makes that possible. I can even play the switch on our projector in our backyard gazebo so wait no longer and get this!!I reached out to the seller at first when I couldn’t get it to work with my switch but they aren’t very helpful ☹️ Didn’t receive any response at all, I would’ve given this a 4 star for poor customer service but since the device worked as expected, I had to be fair and give this 5 stars. One of the customers (@thefugg) gave me suggestion that worked! Thank God for These great Amazon shopaholics like me!

Great mobile dock for the Nintendo Switch!
This converter makes for a great traveling video converter for the Nintendo Switch. The picture is just as clear as with the original Switch Dock, but since the Switch isn't enclosed it remains a bit cooler. It is very important that a power adapter capable of powering the Switch is used with this converter. It will not work if a typical cell phone charger is used -- more power is necessary in order to power both the converter and the Switch at the same time. Buying a mobile power adapter for the Switch to go with this makes it a great traveling set. I have a fairly small zippered carrying case for my switch, which has room for the Switch with the Joy-Cons attached, up to 10 game cartridges and a large lid in which I keep a traveling charger, earbuds, the wrist straps for the Joy-Cons, and this HDMI converter. Makes for a very compact and handy traveling setup! I'm very glad I found this Switch-to-HDMI converter! It will supposedly work with other devices that have a USB-C port for video/audio export but since I don't have any other such devices I can't test how well it works with them.

Works very well!
This is an excellent adapter if you don’t want to spend the $80 on an official Nintendo dock. It’s straightforward enough to use and small enough where it’s the perfect travel adapter. I bought it for the bedroom because we just had a baby and my wife isn’t able to sit on the couch comfortably yet.The only downside is while this can charge the switch, it doesn’t appear to be able to hold the charge. At best, it seems to be able to extend gameplay by an extra hour or two. However, I am using a USB-A to USB-C cable to power it, so I will keep it at 5 stars because I do not know if it is the fault of the adapter or the cable. Perhaps an official Nintendo power cord would solve this issue.EDIT: I can say with certainty now that it was the power source and not the adapter that was the cause of my issues. I changed to a tablet USB charger and while it doesn’t charge while playing, it does significantly prolong the battery life. My wife and I played Mario Kart for two hours and the battery only dropped 10 percent, as opposed to the maybe four hours total playtime I get when not plugged in.

Nice, straightforward dock replacement.
This is a nice replacement for a Switch dock, very small and portable but with enough ports to get the job done. Be forewarned there's no way to manage the cables you're attaching so it does help to have space to lay your Switch flat so the weight of the cables won't be constantly pulling. Aside from that setup is easy and straightforward.I did have an issue that may or may not be related where an HDMI cable died the first time I plugged it in. It may not have been related so I didn't dock this too hard but I will update down the line in case it happens again.

Good portable dock replacement
Ok... originally wrote up a 3-star review explaining that this worked on my TV, but not on other devices (including its intended use with an HDMI capture card). Later figured out there was a problem with my test setup (power supply issues). Tested it under fair conditions, and it works fine. It's a little finicky when you first connect it, but so is an actual dock; so as far as I can tell to date, this works perfectly. Will update if new info arises through ongoing use.

Works for the Switch BUT...
I can confirm this adapter will work for the Switch (non-lite) however, you need to provide power to the adapter ideally with the Nintendo Power Adapter as well. For me, this sort of defeats the purpose of the dock, as I wanted to be able to leave my original Nintendo dock at home and use this adapter with any power supply to power the unit.I think the problem that some reviews posted that it does not work is either they didn't use the Nintendo Power Adapter or used a smaller adapter that did not provide the sufficient voltage and current. The official Nintendo Adapter output is 5V 1.5A (7.5W) or 15V 2.6A (54W). So, if your standard phone charger may not work or if newer phone MAY work but one thing to note is that should it work, it will not charge AND allow you to play the Switch. The only thing it will do is power up the Switch but you'll note the battery slowly start to drain when you are playing. Thus, the only way to remedy this is using the official Nintendo power adapter.I also tried a few different supplies including an iPad 10W, Macbook Air power adapter and took a 5V 2.4A USB from my power bar to see if it would charge AND play the Switch. No dice....only way to charge AND play is using this dock AND using the official Nintendo power adapter. Now, there may be a non-Nintendo Switch power adapter that will output 5V 1.5A (7.5W) or 15V 2.6A (54W) but that requires another item on top of this adapter. So once you factor that in, you'll be better off with that small all-in-one adapter (do some Googling) that will be essentially the cost of two devices and likely best bet. Regardless, alas I will not be using this dock as it does not work for me.But all in all, this device works as advertised for the Switch if used correctly! The construction of the box is solid metal so better than some cheaper brands I purchased. Not sure about the longevity but it's probably one of the best priced item if using for the Switch.

Works OK for phone to TV connection
Purchased to connect the Nintendo Switch to our TV. Even using the original Nintendo Switch power cable, it did not work at all. It does charge the Switch when it is connected, but the picture does not appear on the TV.We use it to watch movies from my phone on the TV, but it does not seem to charge the phone while the movies are playing.

Poor Connection
Looks good. Worked for a week. Starts to lose connection with HDMI to monitor. My monitor was new and I used several HDMI cords to test. My experience is the product is defective. Sent back for refund.

Works sporadically
Only works once out of 10 times we try and plug it in. It works or won’t work it depends how it feels. This thing is unreliable and probable beat to pay more for better qu’atouts product to work with nintendo switch each time ... not when it feels like it.

Works as a compact backup hub for Nintendo Switch
I've been using this with a power supply to connect a Nintendo Switch to our second TV. It's been over a year and It works perfectly!
