I have two computers. A Laptop and a Gaming computer. I have and HDMI switch since both computers share one monitor. I purchased this USB switch to be able to share a keyboard, mouse, and a Bose audio system. Using the supplied USB cables I plugged the laptop into PC 1 and the gaming computer into PC 2 in the back of the switch. In the front of the switch I plugged in the Bose system and the mouse and keyboard receivers (since both are wireless). I turned on the gaming computer and the audio system, keyboard, and mouse worked. Then I turned on the laptop and switched to PC1 and sure enough the audio system, keyboard, and mouse worked on the laptop. The USB switch works great. Also, it comes with a remote control which works too. The switch housing is made out of metal and seems to be built well. I expect to get many years of service out of it. So all in all a good purchase. Recommended.

So, I fried my last USB switch (not this one) by somehow plugging a USB A cable in backwards.I'm still not entirely sure how things moved enough to make that physically possible, but I'm pretty confidant that it simply won't happen with this one.It feels rather solidly built, and the case is metal, not plastic.It works perfectly, it has a good mix of ports on the front, the USB 10Gbit support is very nice to have, and the remote is a great touch.The only reason why it's 4 stars instead of 5 is because the indicator lights are really, really small and dim.But the remote works well, the buttons work well, and on the whole, I am quite happy with it.

Works as it should, good price

Hesitant to give this product 5 stars but the product works great. 3 computers hooked up to same keyboard and mouse (surface laptop, M1 mac mini, Linux mint). I clearly received a product that was returned by someone else. My version of this product was NOT in a box and the plastic piece which normally goes in the box was bent up. However, the product components were in perfect condition and work great.Consider buying this product for a different reseller

Faster switching between machines than my previous two output switch, and I don't need to use the separate micro usb power input. Remote works great, and I love that the two physical middle buttons are raised, providing a tactile way of discerning which system you're switching to. The USB C addition (with an adapter if you need four USB A) is a great addition. The only downside I've had is my Drop Ctrl keyboard will occasionally stop responding when I switch between systems, but I don't think it's the switch, since the mouse and Stream Deck connected keep working between.

This works fine for switching USB between computers. When you switch, the computers don't "hold" the usb connection, so there is a few second delay between switching and being able to actually use the keyboard and mouse. I guess I should have anticipated that, but I found it annoying enough to return it and look for other options where the keybard/mouse ports are emulated for seamless switching. Products like that exist, but are more expensive.

I have three systems in my living room, a gaming pc, a gaming server pc, and a mac pro all plugged into this device. My keyboard is a wired led keyboard (i use the supplemental power for the switch) and i was pleasantly surprised that when the system i’ve selected go to sleep, or are shutdown, it turns off the power to the ports and my keyboard turns off. Once i turn the pc back on and touch a key, it turns back on. I like having the remote. One suggestion though is to get ten foot usb cables along with this if your systems are not close to each other, the included cables are not very long. Remote control is a nice feature to have and can tuck the device away among all the hardware.
