CAP Barbell 2-Inch Olympic Bumper Plate Weight Set | 100-370 lbs | Multiple Options

They came in 4 separate boxes (I feel for the drivers, but I think that is the best CAP could have done). 3/4 of the package actually arrived a day earlier and I just waited for the last 45lb plate which is great. Not sure majority of the comments are experiencing smells or scratching sounds. I did not have any issues with sound when racking the weights on the bar. The smell can be tolerated, not sure why people expect anything different; it's no different than brand new car tires. The speckle with the lettering looks great and helps with ease of use. They are really easy to carry/grip especially for the ladies that use them here. Not too worried about the weights being scratch resistant, but the material will definitely show them if you really tried to. Lastly the price is out of this world, in the good way. I'm glad I waited for the price the drop, the quality is superb.

Awesome product. Cheapest set of plates i could find on amazon but the quality was not sacraficed. CAP customer service responded to me super quick about the delay of my package so props to them. The only thing i disliked is that brand new out the box they came with a thin layer of oil and a smell to them. Wasn’t bad. I wiped them down and let them dry next to my basement window for a day and they were perfect. I see myself using these for years to come. CAP earned a new loyal customer. Thumbs up.

Other customers are right a this set has a very pungent odor almost like an ashtray with a hint of oil. I opened the boxes outside. I cleaned them with Lysol spray, then simple green. They sat outside all night. The next day I washed them with Dawn dishwashing soap. The Dawn really cut the oil. I would suggest trying Dawn first. They are now inside and not smelling much at all. Was a pretty good work out lifting, carrying and hold all that weight while cleaning them.

Yes - they do come greasy and with black residue and a smell, but honestly over time it's just not been a big deal to me. Wipe them down, wash them, etc. They are fine. I wouldn't really listen to the negative reviews unless you are just suuuuper sensitive to smell or something. They seem accurate with the weight. I've been using for a few months now, in squats, bench, and dropping them in deadlifts, and have no complaints! Good for the price!

For the price these are great quality. I spent some time to resolve issues. Reviews mention 3 main issues: 1) Oily 2) Smelly 3) Screechy when putting on bar. I asked ChatGPT what to do. It recommended:Degrease: Use a degreaser like Simple Green, WD-40 Degreaser, or dish soap with warm water.Wipe down thoroughly with a rag.Rinse well and dry immediately to prevent rust.Use Isopropyl Alcohol (optional): After degreasing, wipe with rubbing alcohol to remove residue and help evaporate moisture.For Smelly Rubber Plates:Ventilate: Let them air out in a garage, balcony, or other well-ventilated area for a few days to weeks.Wipe Down: Clean with a solution of water + white vinegar (1:1 ratio) or use baking soda paste. Let sit for a few minutes before wiping off.After I did exactly these things I felt for minor burrs on the inner ring. I used very fine steel wool "0000" and gently removed them. I then used Flitz polish on the inner ring. This fills in minor surface imperfections and protects the metal. Now they go on the bar silky smooth! Yeah it seems like a lot of work but I'll be using these for many years.

First, this set shipped in 7 boxes and 2 boxes (each with the 45lbs) came in the day after thr rest. This worked out fine but I didn't want anyone else to panic and think it was outside the norm for the item to be marked as delivered but still be missing parts.Impressed with feel of these plates. Goof for a bar, but covering makes it just as easy to hold them.

The best bang for your buck on bumper plates. They do exactly what needs to be done and can take a decent beating. My only gripe is the amount of oil they come lathered in. Be sure to have a used rag/t-short to wipe them down.

The bumper plates work great for deadlifts. I've used cast iron plates in the past and they have messed up the concrete floor in my garage, but these don't do that. The only reason I'm removing a star is because they were covered in an absurd amount of industrial grease when they got here and I had to basically cover them in chalk so I could pick them up. This isn't all that uncommon for bumper plates though. Other than that they are great.
