Karam

Forget about the image on the DVD cover: this is not the typical sappy, glamorized RomCom you might expect. Unlike many Bollywood flicks, Karam actually has a good bit of violence and action in it (not like in some US movies, just enough to be engaging), and the story is interesting. John Abraham plays a hired killer for a crime lord, and after really, really screwing up (in a shocking twist, seriously), he wants out. But his boss isn't letting him off the hook so easily and forces him do "one last job", and that one's a biggie. John refuses to do it but when the crime lord kidnaps his wife (Priyanka Chopra), John is left with no choice...Karam is well scripted, well acted, and well paced. Other than a few songs - which absolutely don't fit into the overall feel of this movie, but are pretty much mandatory in Bollywood productions - you may just be surprised about how dark and serious Karam is.DVD quality itself is good. Amazon warns that this movie is manufactured "on demand" on a DVD-R. (What, like some guy is burning discs on his home computer?) However, it looked and played just like any regular DVD you'd buy from a mainstream manufacturer.

Good plot, but poorly executed. Made worse on prime video when film developed a 2 minute, eight second delay between the the subtitles and the film dialogue, with the subtitles being the apparent culprit, appearing to run in advance of the film plot.

I loved John Abraham in this movie

Love, love, love this ;movie! As far as foreign films go, this one is on the top! He kinda reminds me of Antonio Bandaras with his acting and the music and singing was beautiful. I would watch this again!

Waste of talented actors, story line was horrible. It was just pure violence, it made no sense. I thought it was a love story NOT!

Nice entertaining movie

Two of my favorite actors, John Abraham, Priyanka Chopra I enjoyed watching them but... It was ok. I just would have liked to see him as this super assassin kickin' butt more so in the beginning of the movie and her character feisty and capable of handling herself in fight. The special effects weren't the best. The songs were ok.

Es stimmt, es ist kein typischer Schmuse-Tanz-Romantik-Liebes-Bollywoodfilm. ES IST NÄMLICH EIN THRILLER/KRIMI !!!! Und dieser Film ist sehr gut gemacht, sehr gut synchronisiert und spannend von Anfang bis Ende, wie eben ein Krimi sein sollte. Manche Leute hier, die Rezensionen schreiben, denken wahrscheinlich Bollywood ist nur in der Lage Liebesfilme zu drehen und die heile Welt mit Herz und Schmerz vorzugaukeln, wo es fast immer ein Happyend gibt. Diese Leute irren gewaltig und haben keine Ahnung vom wirklichen Bollywood - Indien. Dort gibt es wie in jedem Land auch Krimis, Psychothriller, Action und Liebesfilme. John Abraham sieht nicht nur gut aus, sondern ist ein super Schauspieler, der überwiegend Psychothriller wie "Aetbaar" oder etwas mystische wie "Saaya" und "Madhoshi" spielt und sogar bei den härtesten Filmen Romantik und Liebe gut rüber bringt. Denn ganz ohne geht es in keinem Bollywoodfilm, selbst bei den Härtesten nicht. Ich habe über 120 verschiedenste Bollywoofilme und weiß von was ich rede. Rezensionen sollten wirklich keine Leute schreiben, die nur die paar Filme aus dem Fernsehen kennen. Dieser Film ist absolut empfehlenswert, natürlich nur für richtige Fans geeignet, die sich allumfassend interessieren. Wer nur SRK Filme oder Liebesfilme guckt, sollte die Hände davon lassen.

Sehr schöner Film. Die Geschichte hat mir echt sehr gefallen. Hab ihn mir schlimmer vorgestellt.

Der Film Karam ist wirklich gut. Spannung und Action sind dabei und was fürs Herz. Allerdings muss ich auch dazu sagen das es manchmal ziemlich langatmig ist und die Hauptdarstellerin etwas nervig übertrieben.Aber alles in allem sehenswert.

Habe mir den Film bestellt, weil ich John Abraham als Schauspieler gut finde. Ich wurde auch nicht enttäuscht. Ein schöner Film. Bollywood mal anders. Spannend und Action.Daher von mir 5 Sterne.
