That Handmade Touch: 20 Simple Sewing Projects for You and Your Home Paperback – April 30, 2019

I am admittedly a fan of the author and have purchased many of her patterns on etsy. When I found out she was writing a book I didn't hesitate to pre-order it. It was a happy mail day when the book arrived a few weeks ago and my life has been too busy for me to make any of the patterns but I'm confident there are at least five patterns that will happen in the near future. If you read her blog or follow the things she makes on Instagram you can feel confident that you'll know what's in this book. I recommend to new sewists learning skills and experienced ones looking for fun quick projects!

I was excited to find this sewing book. Why? Because it wasn't filled with the typical colorful cotton prints sewing projects! I wanted a sewing book that focused on more on minimal and modern solid fabrics mixed with SOME prints. The projects are approachable, which if you're a beginner, the steps along with the photos included will help you. If you're more advanced, there are projects, like her wallet, to challenge you. Her projects are a great stepping stone for beginners to help them become a more experienced sewist. I'm a beginner- intermediate, so these projects are going to help me strength my skills and even make me a better sewist.

You will be inspired to create some lovely things for you and your home with this book! Pouches, tote bags, pillows, quilts, and more. The simple styles allow the fabrics to shine. I like that there are some projects that don’t take too much time to accomplish and others that have more detail. Something for all levels of experience, although a basic knowledge of sewing would be very helpful. Instructions are clearly written and includes tips for customization and professional finishes. I plan to make some special gifts with the help of this book.

This is a great book. Exactly what I was looking for - fun useful projects that challenged me. I am not an advanced sewer, but the few items I made so far came out great and look professionally made. The quality is so good that you think they were store bought! The teepee project I modified by staining and sealing the wooden dowels and adding small rubber feet.

Fabulous tips and tricks to be had in this book. Wonderful ways to finish small projects and h w them looking professionally made.

I really like this book and can't wait to start sewing from it. I am just trying to decide what pattern to start with. The only thing I don't like is that the instruction pictures are so small. I am a visual learner and am losing sight in one of my eyes, so it would have been better with bigger pictures. But I will definitely use this book. There was not one pattern in it that I did not like!

I loved the quality and simplicity of the projects in this book. With very few tools useful items for my home or for gifts can be made. Printed on lovely paper with beautiful pictures and simple instructions, I felt I could make them all. All of this for the price of one pattern for pouches that I’ve previously purchased. Loved the book.

This is a lovely book. There is a nice range of projects and the directions are clear and easy to follow. I bought this book for one particular bag that I liked but have found several more that I’ve put into my queue to sew. I may not make every project in this book but I bet I come close!
