We bought some for our home and also our RV have more of a sense of security knowing these are ready to go and Will let us know if there are any problems. We thought there may be a problem with them being a little bit larger, but they are not that noticeable.

I had a small pin hole leak on my oven hose. So once I replaced the hose the smell went away plus I tested the whole oven and plumbing with a natural gas detector and found the problem and checked all my oven for any leaks. So I bought this detector to keep peace of mind and it sure does

For the people leaving negative reviews regarding this detector NOT working... I'm not going to say you're wrong, because you may have just gotten a bad one per chance, but I will say, after reading your reviews it prompted me to test this immediately and directly as you stated, in front of the stove with the gas on, and I must say here, the one I received works fantastic, as it went off like 2 seconds after placing it in front of to the gas stove that I blew out to test just the gas fumes only, and sure enough, I must say... you can't speak for everyone when it comes to high volume sold products on amazon. You may have received a defective detector, and I invite anyone to do the same. These are no good if they don't work right. Test immediately when you receive to make sure! Couldn't be happier with the peace of mind this product gives my family and I. Would highly recommend. I've learned to not always go by negative reviews especially when the good outweighs the bad.

For better or worse, I can confirm this detector works when it comes to natural gas leaks. Our stove burner was accidentally opened, and the detector alerted us in time to call the fire department and have our apartment aired out safely. It seems to have alerted us before we were facing a really dangerous situation. I'm only knocking off a star because I suspect the leak was happening for hours, and I wish the alarm had gone off sooner, but we do have it plugged in across the room.

Effective unit with battery backup. This is my 2nd unit. First one was retired.😊

I could not find these locally. They work and test well on the unit. I’ve had them for years and needed a replacement. Plug in easy installation. They have never been tested in an actual detection as it is a bit easier to “live test” a smoke alarm but, I don’t have a wired system and this makes me feel more secure.

I'm about to wax poetic about the "Safety Siren Pro Series 1000" (or whatever demonic device this is). Let's be clear, this thing detects carbon monoxide like a bloodhound sniffs out a dropped hotdog at a picnic. No complaints there. If there's a rogue molecule of CO within a five-mile radius, this thing will know. It's like having a tiny, hyper-vigilant, gas-detecting chihuahua with a PhD in atmospheric chemistry.But, and this is a BIG but, when those batteries start to wane, oh. sweet merciful heavens... it's like a tiny, metal-clad demon has taken up residence in my home. The beeping... the BEEPING... isn't your standard, "Oh, batteries are low, please replace me" chirp. No, this is a sustained, high-pitched, soul-rending wail that sounds like a chorus of dying smoke detectors harmonizing with a dentist's drill.It starts subtly, a little "beep" here, a little "beep" there. You think, "Oh, I'll change them tomorrow." WRONG. You've just signed a pact with auditory torment. Within hours, it evolves into a relentless, rhythmic pulse of pure, unadulterated annoyance. My cat now hides under the sofa, my plants have visibly wilted, and I've started having flashbacks to that scene in Reefer Madness where the guy leaps out the window, convinced he's being chased by jazz demons.I swear, this thing is less a safety device and more a psychological warfare instrument. It's so effective at alerting you to low batteries that you'll replace them out of sheer, unbridled terror. You'll be sprinting to the store, batteries clutched in your trembling hands, like you're carrying the antidote to the apocalypse.Five stars for gas detection, minus a million for auditory assault. If you value your sanity, buy this thing, but keep a fresh pack of batteries on standby, and maybe invest in some industrial-grade earplugs. You've been warned.

There's no way to test this device without endangering my mother's apartment building, so I have to just hope it works.
