Nice chine well lub. and as goes I kind of forgot how unfun it can be
Nice chain sifts gears with out a hitch. Be sure you clean the sprockets you don't want a nice shiny chain running on dirty sprockets, that would be tackey. Recommend

New set of gears and chain "happy costumer"
I try to get the best I can find for a good price and this Shimano chain was great. This chain will work just fine with the Shimano cassette I just installed!

Great quality, lasts a long time
The Ultegra chain is a solid piece of machinery. Smooth shifts and seamless integration with the rest of the drivetrain components — even if they aren't Shimano Ultegra. Interestingly, I have this chain on a SRAM 50/34 crankset with Ultegra Deraillerus and an Ultegra 11-28 cassette. No issues whatsoever. Everything shifts buttery smooth, once you get it all dialed in. These chains long time, though I swap mine out every few years to keep the rest of the drivetrain fresh.Only complaint? I wish this chain used a masterlink for easier install and repair, especially if you're out on the road. Instead, it has a connecting pin and you'll need a chain link tool to install. They are not expensive and super easy to use. Just YouTube the process.

Been using these chains for years with no issues.
I am an avid cyclist. This is my sixth Ultegra 6701 chain on a road bike with approx. 18,000 miles. These are high quality chains that with good care and lubrication will last upwards of 3,000 miles. I use Pro Gold chain lube and use a chain stretch checker (Park Brand) to check for wear.Note that this particular chain is for 10 speed Shimano Road Bike drivelines (105, Ultegra, Dura-Ace) and it does not have a master link. It has a pin that you press into the links. I prefer this style but it is much more difficult to remove and reattach chain as you will need to use a new pin every time you do it.Update: Noticed several people complaining about difficulty in cutting the pin. You don't cut the pin. If you have a decent chain tool (or a pair of pliers), you bend the excess part of the pin to snap excess part of the pin off, at the thin point. Tons of videos online show this process.

Comes with insertion pin, don't buy extra.
Fits my 10 speed Specialized Alize very well, and was easy to install. This chain does come with an extra connecting pin in a separate bag inside of the box. Don't lose it when opening!

ultegra grade... but is it any better?
Just put this thing on my bike and I must say, it does look good.... It went on with no problems (if you have access to the right tools for the job) and only needed to have 5 or so links trimmed to fit nicely on my CX bike with no excess slack throughout the gear range. This chain is supposedly direction specific and is designed to shift easier than a standard chain... I have yet to see if this is true but my bike does need a tune-up so I need to sit down with it on an afternoon and get it nice and dialed in, then the added machining benefits may be more pronounced. The pin was alittle on the difficult side to put in but again, it comes down to having the right tools for the job (my chain breaker is currently out of commission)Overall it is a nice chain, but is the new 6700 chain worth the cost over an older style cheaper alternative? only time will tell.

Better for your drivetrain lifespan
Genuine 100% authentic Shimano. Make sure you read the instructions and mount the chain properly because it is directional. The lettering should be facing you on the drive side with the outer link in front. There are very simple videos on YouTube for proper installation. People have a habit of installing them backwards which will damage your drive chain.

Great chain
This year has been the test….. family of four new to mountain biking… which means we are all epically great at falling and breaking parts. We have broken several derailures, chains, bar ends….. it’s been great! We have tried sram chains, shamans xt chains, cheap-o chains….. this Roadbike chain! Ultegra…. Has been the smoothest/quietest & more importantly strongest chain…. (Make that make sense to me!!! Thought for sure the xt would be way better- after breaking two within a few rides, done) literally ordered the first one of these by accident thinking it was an xt (late at night) thew it on the next morning and man…. Slowly converting all of the bikes over to this chain after they break.
