REAL SLIPPERY ELM
This is the real thing and not some extract. I've been using NOW products for years and I recently tried a different brand of the slippery elm and it wasn't even slippery elm but I got this one and it is the real deal. Works so well for my gut issues and has an ok taste and is easy to mix and even the color is the right color. I found out about slippery elm from Dr. Barbara O'Neill and it works wonders. There's no smell at all. It helps my stomach and even throat.

Amazing for women READ!
This is a powder form and the taste is nutty and perfect for tea it has a fall kinda vibe :) Lets talk about what it does... it's called SLIPPERY elm for a reason it makes you more slippery in all the right places. *Not for women who are pregnant or trying to get pregnant as it can cause miscarriage. This WORKS and pretty fast with in 24 hours for me. I only use it as needed and I don't think it's to be used continuously, so do your research. I mix it with a hand held frother. It is kinda clumpy a fork works too. This is also great for joint pain ... any lube in the body :)

Soothes CAT'S tummy!
My cat with IBD suffers typical symptoms including nausea and upset stomach. I read and now wholeheartedly believe that slippery elm works like Pepto-Bismol (which is toxic to cats), coating the tummy and providing swift relief to cats and I'd imagine all pets. It does a myriad of other medicinally beneficial things for cats that I encourage everybody to do a quick online search. I promise you'll be amazed! This is a an absolute MUST item in my kitty medicine arsenal. NOW brand is an inexpensive yet 100% trustworthy source of quality SEP - - which is critical, as I've actually tried a couple other brands in capsule form that appeared legit but once prepared smelled noxious/burned, thus obviously NOT pure & full of God knows what random fillers.**I mix ONE heaping TBSP in 1/2cup cold water in a glass sauce pan, bring to boil then immediately reduce to simmer for 3-5mins. Stir/whisk constantly (I use a fork). Finished product will be think, gelatinous (PERFECT to soothe tummy), some call it "gruel". I fill a 5 cc syringe & administer orally then store remaining gruel in fridge for up to 1 week.FYI - You can't really mess up proportionately so don't sweat it!Above pep method is preferred but in a pinch, you can forgo boiling & simply mix & serve. For single dose, I eyeball appx 1/2 TSP powder to maybe 1 TBSP water. Good luck!

Helped my gastritis
This helped me get through a gastritis flare up that lasted about two weeks. I mixed it with peppermint tea and it really soothed my stomach.

TRASH PRODUCT :(
The media could not be loaded. This is TRASH.The same product and brand that I purchased years ago is light in color, very fragrant smelling, slightly sweet and thickens up in liquid which means it's the inner bark (the effective part). The new batch is dark and doesn't have much of a smell. It also doesn't thicken up in water which means it's not good to take it because it's either the outer bark or it's sawdust. It's astringent instead of sweet.I'm sick and was relying on this but now I can tell it's not going to soothe mucous membranes and intestines and in fact may contain compounds that will irritate them.I'm so sick of companies cutting supplements with trash and playing with people's health. I thought I could trust this brand but I guess not anymore.I put the same amount of each bottle (old and new) side by side so you can see what I mean. The light color one is older and thick. The new one looks like coffee water.Goodbye NOW.

This stuff worked for my dog! No more skipping meals and gurgling stomach!
My dog had been vomiting on and off and/or not wanting his food(chicken, rice, vegetables mixed with wet dogfood). When he didn’t get better with bland homemade food, I was about to try pepto bismol on him. Then I came across slippery elm while reading a website from a wholistic vet. Slippery elm was an ingredient in their healthy tummy mix.So began the research! He has been on it for a month now (I mix two tsp powder into two cups hot water, mix well with whisk. Then refrigerate and I have enough for 5-6 days. I started three meals a day instead of two. I give all homemade chicken, rice and Vegs. Morning and evening I add two tbsp slippery elm liquid to his food. Dog is 13 yrs. and he’s 30 lbs. Mid afternoon at 3 p.m. I give the dog his meal with his vitamin, probiotic, and pumpkin powder but no slippery elm because supposedly it won’t let his body absorb the vitamins etc. It may seem too much for some of you, but for my dog to feel great, stay regular and be happy and not hurting makes it worth it for me. He is a changed dog! After two years of belly issues off and on, now I’ve found Slippery Elm! So happy.
