I have been using these strippers in the controls field for the last year and have had a very good experience so far. While the cutter isn't big enough to handle some of the cables and I do have to strip the outer sheathing by hand, these have been able to strip three to four wires at the same time on several of my 22 to 18 gauge cables. Not to mention the rubber jacketed vinyl tubing that we use on our weld fixtures as air lines. Nearly any thing that needs to be stripped and can git in the jaws will strip. I will say that I did need to take it apart about 2 months ago because a small piece of insulation from a 28 guage wire managed to get into the mechanism and prevented it from gripping properly but after clearing that, the strippers started working exactly as before.

I purchased this just over a year ago and am only writing a review now because I came back to order another after I misplaced the first one. I literally can’t live without it. The old style of cutters and strippers seem like torture devices compared to this thing. A true god send. It is adjustable for different gauges of wire but I really only need to adjust it when stripping small gauge (thicker) wire. It is super forgiving for tiny to household wire sizes. Cutter is super sharp and the whole process is as easy as one squeeze. The design really works well. No twisting or tugging or trying to get through the insulated layer. In one squeeze it grips, locks down on the wire and pulls back the insulation. I spent about one day after not being able to find it cursing and grumbling about the time is was taking (plus frustration) to strip using the old style of wire strippers. It was enough to send me back into my order history to order again. They were working as well as the day I got em’ so they a well built and for the price, I can’t live without them. My only complaint is that there is a very limited play in how and where it grips the wire so if you are rewiring something that is already installed, sometimes it can’t get the right angle to bite down. A very very minimal flaw that is basically insignificant in the face of the true awesomeness of this tool.

Great tool if you are working with small-gauge wires in a tight j-box situation. I used it wiring up a gate opener with a couple of magnetron sensors and being able to easily strip the tiny wires made organizing the j-box wiring much less stressful. Previously I used the classic stripper where you need to assign the target wire to the correct notch in the stripper-plier, which tool would not have worked anywhere near as well for this particular job. For larger wires and less crowded circumstances, the Klein tools self-adjusting stripper is also a winner.

Works really well. The tension adjustment screw and cutter are super convenient and work really well. Only complaint is the length guide doesnt like to stay put after a couple dozen strips.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Worked as well as could be expected. Makes wire splicing a breeze. Light weight, well made, well worth the price. Should have one in every tool box.

This cheap little wire stripper did a 10 times better job at stripping the wire in a clean manner than any other wire stripper that cost much more than this one and I’ve tried many different ones. This one wins from all angles cheap simple efficient and actually does the job right and very fast.
