50 Lead ingots 50 Plus LBS

I was a bit worried because of previous reviews, until I noticed that they were 2 to 6 years old! I was hopeful that the seller had made the necessary 'changes' and sure enough the "product" is exactly as advertised. I received my lead quickly and appropriately packaged to withstand the rigors of shipment; that is, it was packaged in a right sized USPS Flat Rate box. I opened it to find 4 smaller boxes marked with 15, 15, 10 and 10 to indicate the weight of the lead bars in each small box. Further, each small box and the large, outer box was well wrapped in real, reinforced packaging tape. Total actual weight was 51.2 pounds. I tested the lead and it was 99.9% pure lead. I then made some bullets and they were perfect, even better I added a bit of flux only to get the tiniest amount of dross on the tip of my dross collector. I will buy this again! Fantastic, clean lead and fast shipping!

Concur with earlier reviews. Should add that this is hard lead, not extremely hard but sufficient for pistol and rifle bullets at around 1200 fps or less. I was actually looking for pure lead when I bought this, but when it arrived I tested it and found it was hard lead so will use it for what its intended for. If you are looking for pure lead, do what I did and go to a metals scrap yard. They sell it from bins; usually in the form of scrap lead sheets torn off an old commercial or residential roof (flashing or roof vent materials). I bought some pure lead at a yard for 80 cents a pound. Don't go to a plumbing supply store for lead they are too proud of it, $7/pound or so. But if you are looking for hard lead, I did a thorough price comparison on amazon and ebay and this JSD Arms source was the best price per pound I found Feb 2015. Have fun.

Good sized ingots if you're using the Lee smallpot a fit really nice and narrow and very pleased so far with the outcome.

The lead melts within 10 minutes in my lead pot and works well for fishing jig making.
