KW3A Microwave Oven Door Switch 16A 125V/250V Door Interloc (2 Normally Open and 1 Normally Close)

Great value and got the job done. Our 4 year old GE microwave kept tripping the house circuit breaker each time the door was opened. They are a bit of a pain to install but well worth the time and expense of having to have a repair man come out buy a new microwave. These switches are all grey. The original are two blacks and a grey. Two are normally closed switches, black and one is normally open grey on the original... The switches are shipped with the normally open one marked NO in marker on the replacement switches. Just be sure to place the marked one in the grey switch slot on the o original.

My Fathers microwave kept blowing the breaker, even though it was a dedicated circuit. I had repaired mine so I told him I would take a look at it. The are retired and on a fixed income, so a new microwave would have been difficult for them to purchase.Picked up and the unit and proceeded to test all the major components, thinking if it was tripping the breaker, it was either the capacitor or magnatron. Everthing tested good, so moved to the front of the unit and tested all three door switches. Yep, one was bad. Ordered these, arrived in quick order, installed, which is very easy, and took care of the problem. Very easy fix and was able to save myself some dollars instead of buying them a new microwave.NOTE: 2 switches work normal, no continuity when the door is open(top and bottom switches) 3rd switch works the opposite, continuity when door is open, no continuity when door is closes. Package comes with all three, but need to test each switch to ensure proper placement.

After watching a Youtube video on the possibility of my father-in-law's microwave having a bad door switch (everything appeared to work as far as the keypad and timer but no energy to microwave emitter), I ordered this set of three switches from Amazon. That was done after opening his microwave and getting the switch part numbers and searching to find these. When the new switches arrived, it was fairly simple to install them based on the photos I took before removing the old switches. The one that was bad of the original switches was the one that was a sensor for the lower door catch or opener mechanism. Once we had the new switches in place, the microwave worked with no issues. Note: on this particular microwave the two rear cover screws have torx security screws with a post in the middle of the head opening. I did not have my security bits with me during the disassembly, but two precision flat tip screw drivers inserted in the sides of the torx head and twisted worked to get the case off. When I went back to install the new switches I had my security bit set with me.

These are the exact switches that were inside the microwave. Two of them failed in my hands—one was the top switch, which I knew always remained closed, and I know this interlocking switch was likely already damaged. The middle switch fell apart while I was trying to lubricate it.However, the third switch below was intact, and I could tell it was still functional because of the satisfying click it made when pressed.Now, my microwave no longer turns on when the door is opened. Hopefully, it lasts for a while, but if not, I’ll have to start using the new microwave I purchased from another vendor. Since they misdelivered and I had issues with newer microwaves I returned it this microwave was the longest working microwave I had worked for a good 8 years before the switches went out. These switches were more durable. I liked how the plastic outside was firm plus big, and the click was loud too.

Sasaqutch's microwave is a fridgedare but many have the two locking switches and this one i used for the monitor citrcuit - you can actually disconnect the monitor switch and the wicrowave will work. One of the 3 switches will be bad and not switching - there is a fuse in the upper right just above the input panel with a screw 3 inches down inside throught the top to release the control panel and get to the switches. My monitor switch cause the microwave to stop working - only after many times just opening the door on 1 second left then it starts to do it at any time. Sasquatch says, "good luck"

Just what I needed to get my 1997 GE Spacemaker XL microwave working again!

I have an 8 year old Frigidaire microwave. It started work intermittently. The door closure was a clue. If i held the door in tight, the microware would work. Knowing a little about microwaves, I figured the switches were bad. So I ordered these switches and replaced them all. All I needed was a good light and a pair of longnose pliers to pull the wire plugs off the old switch. I had an ohm meter so I checked to for the switch that was normally closed (the button not pushed in). The other two were normally open (the button not pushed in). All I had to do is pull the wire clip off the end of each old switch and push it onto the new switch.So I replaced the switches making sure to replace the normally closed with the new normally closed one.The switches fit perfectly. Just had to make sure the pin goes into the hole on the switch for proper alignment in the switch holder. But make sure to replace the old normally switch with the new normally closed switch. Us an ohm meter or continuity checker.Put the cover back on and it works perfectly. Great switches.
