Brilliant for the price, but caution, it is flawed.
So much cheaper than many fittings of this type. But note that it is flawed when used on a smooth horizontal bar. I'm using mine mainly on industry standard K&M microphone stands, to support various bits of kit including a K&K guitar pre-amp and an H5 recorder (see attached photos). If the clamp is mounted on a vertical pole/tube it works very well and I can tilt the H5 so that l may easily see the screen. However there are serious limits to its grip on a horizontal tube. For example while it will hold my H5 horizontal and with a modular mic attached, the minute I want to tilt it, or start adding cables, the clamp just slides around the tube. A crimped or serrated tube is fine, finding a way to roughen a smooth tube might help. I haven't tried it on a bike, I'm doubting it would remain stable after hitting a couple of pot holes, without first making sure it has a "grippy" surface on which to clamp it... this is inevitable it's mainly a result of the different radii of the two arms of the clamp - which is designed to accommodate different thickness of tube. It's also worth noting that "Quick Release" does not mean "Quickly Detachable". It releases quickly for immediate adjustment, but takes a few turns of the screw to fit to/remove from a tube. Having said all that, it's well made, easy to use, an excellent bit of kit to keep in your bag and brilliant at the price. I've just ordered 2 more.

Very Strong, but ...
My only gripe is the locking plate is made of cheap plastic. It split after a couple of hours use. I replaced with a metal one I took off an old clamp which made this almost perfect - Shame they couldn't make the locking wheel out of metal, otherwise all goodI must add, if I was using this indoors, with little resistance it would be fine as it is. I use it on my motorcycle so I need a very strong, tight grip. I probably tighten it too much. My point is, you shouldn't be able to tighten it too much!

Great wee clamp for the price
I bought 2 of these in conjunction with Wolfcraft 4042000 Ceiling Props for attaching my HTC Vive light boxes to. These clamps have the standard camera mount with tilt adjustment. The camera mount disc is rubber padded as are the insides of the clamps. You tighten the clamp using the threaded tension rod to bring the retaining lever toward the clamp and then snap the lever over to keep the clamp secured. The camera mount can be tilted in all directions by (1) using the thumb screw, (2) pulling the mount section and twisting it round and (3) positioning the camera itself. It does the job well. If you need to clamp this to anything less than 15mm diameter though you'll need something to pad it out first. (The clamp appears to widen to 40mm).The only place I could find on my motorbike to attach it to was at the back for a rear view (should I ever feel inclined to do so), however there was nothing at the front suitable, but then I have a mount on my helmet and I didn't get this clamp for that purpose anyway. In terms of build quality, it seems robust enough. Only the lever feels like it could snap if it's particularly tight but loosening the tension rod slightly sorts that out.

Wobbly and Dodgy; how much was your camera again?....Insured?
One of the easiest bike fittings to put on ever, looks the part too, "My Armour" Ha ha. I put an action cam on it and it felt far too wobbly. As with many bike fittings you can often find a wee hack to tighten things up, took it apart. The horror. That whole top section? Once you remove the top part you see a screw and a washer. I checked the screw for tightness, uselessly slack, tightened it up, sure enough it tightened, didn't push it though.Tried again, still wobbly, took it apart and started to undo that screw, it was tiny, it's holding down a spring loaded adjuster that you can use to rotate the top section by 90 degrees or whatever suits. Thing is though that screw wasn't attached to a bolt, it was self tapped into plastic and that's it, that's what's holding your expensive camera on, a tiny wee screw and pure dumb luck. I'm in the process of fitting a bolt. Don't buy this unless you are prepared to do the same.

Good in parts...
I bought this to clamp a very light item to my monopod. It fell apart in my hands as soon as I opened the box because all the screws and fasteners had been left loose at the factory. It took me a good ten minutes or so to work out how to put it all back together, but once it was reassembled, it provided a good tight grip. The elbow joint and the tightening knobs are all plastic and I really don't expect it will stand up to any over-tightening or drops. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who intends for it to hold an expensive piece of kit. However, the metal clamp mechanism works well and feels quite secure.

... reddit post that suggested using ceiling props and mounts like this which did make a lot of sense since ...
I bought myself an HTC Vive and had been looking around for ways to mount the lighthouses that would let me adjust where they were put for the whole roomscale aspect of VR games that werent going to make me drill lots of holes in a wall (or furniture)I think it was a reddit post that suggested using ceiling props and mounts like this which did make a lot of sense since tripods were looking to be more expensive than a pair of these and a couple of props. My local B&Q had props on a special at ÂŁ10 each so that kind of settled that. One prop is in a corner of the room with some lighting on it as well as some shelves for game related "dustcatchers" I've accumulated over the years. The other prop goes in front of a wardrobe so being able to move it works well and the clamp is ideal for taking the lighthouse off and on.The clamp itself feels nice and solid and for the job I want it to do it's ideal not had any instances of it coming loose or sliding down and adjustments are easy enough to do. I can see this also working pretty well for someone using a go pro type camera on handlebars but obviously its better to ask someone who has done so for their opinion.

Shame looks good but---
The clamp action is good but the whole thing is let down by the slack joint between the clamp and the top piece which can wobble when the phone and support are mounted.I have purchased another similar one with a ball joint that can be locked.
