Having just seeded my lawn area I was faced with a pigeon problem - to a point where I was having to constantly check to see if the blighter was eating my grass seeds. I initially used an ultrasonic deterrent - didn't have any affect - neither did peppermint oil, curry powder or pepper. Having searched the array of various deterrents I opted for this humming tape - its cheap compared to some others on sale. To my amazement since putting up 4 lengths of this tape around my lawn area I have not seen any pigeons on my lawn. I definitely recommend this to anyone searching for a cheap and effective solution to deter birds.

Useless. Put down some grass seed yesterday, tied some of this tape around stakes twice along full length / width of new seeded area. Within 20 minutes, a Robin was merrily pecking away right under it, this morning a Magpie was hopping around right by it, then this afternoon I get home from work to see four pigeons merrily ignoring the tape and pecking away right under it. And this is on two breezy days, the sound and sight clearly does NOT scare birds!

Works well, if string tight, 1 needs scissors or a knife to cut the ribbon

It hums when properly set up and seems to work for scaring most birds - e.g. flocks of pigeons - -away, BUT it does nothing to frighten off pheasants, who calmly continue to graze all around (and under) it.

Remember this from years ago when I grew quite a bit of fruit. Scored the garden centres to be offered chemicals and windmills.Arrived quickly and neatly packaged and I got to work.Reason for need, a new neighbour has ripped out an English garden and replaced with low maintenace gravel, lights and the larges tbird table piled high with unwanted food scaps and fat balls! Pigeon and seagulls banquet and their pud ,my fruit,The car also suffering, the mess!Line can be long and therefore vibrate like a flapping wing of a very large bird. Pulled taut around sticks, instruction on pack a varied humming is emitted. Can't be heard indoors but really works in the garden. Environmentally friendly and quick to set up. This morning instead of being greeted with gable of garage full of squaking birds two looking curious. Vary the line weekly so the birds are not familar with positioning. Excellent product.

The scarer did not work and the birds were happily feeding directly under it, whilst it wined.

Looks very unsightly and doesn't work at all unless there is some wind.

Works well keeps the birds away from the boat
