You can easily sense the care and passion both writers have for the topic, and their complete expertise on each topic.Each segment of this book is presented in a bite sized chunk, with well done artwork, graphics, and photography to illustrate the material. The combination of fine writing and illustration make this a textbook of general firearm ownership and an educational manual of hunting and shooting techniques. Written for both beginners and intermediate level firearms enthusiasts, the breadth of materials on rifles, pistols, and shotguns, will be sure to inform even experienced shooters an hunters. This has become my standard gift to people young and old that are just entering the world of shooting, and I have read this, and prior editions, many times for refreshers.

Very informative, even for those of us that have been around for many decades.

Much of it is basic, but it’s good read and refresher on some things I had forgotten about. Dave Petzal is a hero of mine. I just wanted a little more meat on the bones.

this is fantastic- i was fairly read about firearms and this fought me so much more. i love this series of books by outdoor life/field and stream.
