I use a FARO Arm Blue lazer scanner at work, Granted i am not the best at it. I use a 2023 Pop3 at home. There is a massive difference in scanners there.I want to start off by saying there are some limitations to this scanner, the biggest one is that it is needs at least 12v to work. So you can not just use your phone or computer like you can with the PoP3. I have a power supply that can supply 12v to a usb C and got away with that and the laptop. The cable is very short too so If you are going to get his scanner that is a must, A power supply that can supply 12v.Second thing is that That it this thing does not do well with blacks and dark colors. Blue light scanners are easier to pick up on shiny objects but this one hated blacks and there is very little settings to adjust. where as the pop3 which should do worse in this category being a red lazer, i was able to make adjustments and got in better detail and less artifacts.scanner works well for small objects and simple shapes, it was able to scan my headphone case way way less frames than the pop3 but the pop3 picked up the usb c tab inside the port and the small sony text on the top.The software is good for how much you pay for and what you get. We use polyworks at work and that is way more than i need at times. but this software is so simple and limited i found it more restricting than easy to use. Would be cool to have a plugin for polyworks to have some more fun with this scanner. I see my self using the POP3 cause i am able to do more with it but i could see how a beginner would like how simple and guided this software is.Edit: i did want to put in here that the table scan is "automatic" which is the worst thing they could do. So it scans for about 2 rotations, which is no where near enough. I am only getting a couple hundred frames. At work with the FARO Arm we do like 1000 times that and on my pop3 i do about 100 times that. The software being made for beginners and first timers makes this scanner not able to keep up with people that know what they are doing. Now if you want to they say you can just keep hitting append, but i am not appending it 50 times to get the features i want. I get that the stuff i am scanning with this scanner is a not going to be as complicated or as big as what i do with the FARO Arm but not with the pop3. They need to add plugins for us to use this on other scanning software such as polyworks or designx. Then this scanner would sooooooo worth it.

Don't expect miracles. If you want to just scan and 3D print forget it. The advertising for doing so is definitely misleading. To be fair it's not just this scanner, to get the perfect duplicate stuff you need to spend at least 10K. I bought this to scan model bodies to make body kits for. It's sufficient but takes ALOT of work to get a usable scan.There is a large learning curve, but the biggest issues are that the software that comes with the scanner is horrible. Best thing you can do is get good scans, and export the point clouds not mesh. The meshing for this software is horrid. Export as ply and import into cloud compare. It's a super steep learning curve but if you want to be able to have good scans it's what you need for detail.This has a very narrow field of view and depth of field. Much narrower than advertised. The next size up won't do anything small.If you're on a budget it's worth the $$ if you need one. Probably the best one for scanning this small. To grt anything better is a grand. After that it's 7-10k for a step up.

Low quality scanner. You are better off using and iPhone pro.

Cannot get to work. Calib file cannot download. Have not been able to use at all

But with some patience, you can get some cool 3D scans.
