It's fine
I hated this but tried again and found out what I was doing wrong...it works fine, and hopefully the stainless retaining ring won't corrode like my other one did.

Nice high-quality disposal drain
This is a very nice looking heavily built, high-quality drain. Just be careful that you use the listed garbage disposals only because it does not work with the ones that are not listed.
