70cm amplifier.
So far, it has done everything that it claims that it would. I've only had it for a day, but it seems to be working okay, I wasn't aware that it had a built-in speaker, the quality of sound that comes out of this speaker is not the best, very scratchy, and it sounds like it's in a box or something. Other than that, this thing seems to work great, I've been able to connect to a repeater that was almost a 100 miles away. I'm not sure how that happened, but it's nice.

Cool gizmo
The k1-k1 cable was bad. But they shipped me a new one within 24 hours. I really like how it turns a handheld into a basestation.

Good amp, however...
This is a great item for what it is. I am getting 36 watts out with my HT on high power. I am using a Baofeng AR-5RM (10 watts) and it actually gets 8.5 watts not 10. I wouldn't want to push this amp to it's limit either with the most you can put into it being 10 watts. I usualy run this on medium or low power though becuase it doesn't need to put out more than 20 or 25 watts for my signal to get where I need it good and strong, The one major downside is that is gets HOT!!! If you transmit on this for any length of time (30 minutes or more) it will get pretty hot. Also I don't know for sure yet but I might ataully be having issues with it, probably becuase of its excessive heat and lack of a fan and proper heatsink. It drops my signal while I am transmitting if I transmit for about a minute long. It is not a time out timer or anything else. It's a new problem the amp is having I am pretty sure. So if you plan to have an excessive duty cycle this is probably not for you.

Yup, it works.
Hooked it up to a ht in the garage and I'm able to talk to repeaters that are 38 miles away and another that is just shy of 98 miles away. It bumped my 8 watt ht to 24.5 watts and will probably be better when I get around to buying better coax for my antenna.I also did the same in my truck with a cheap mag mount antenna and results are similar. I have talked simplex from my truck to my house while hunting at just over 51 miles. I would recommend this if you are just getting into radio as a cheaper way to build a cost effective base station and even for a great and cost effective mobile setup.

Amazing RF Amplifier...
Wasn't sure this was going to meet my expectations, but have to say that I am extremely happy with this purchase,I went with the dual analog/digital vhf unit,to boost the transmit power of my many ht's to better reach 2 repeaters in my area, one being approx.13miles away, the other about 17mi. I am currently using a Radtel 600,5 watt output radio in the 147Mhz range, and have gotten very impressive output levels from this BTECH amplifier,It bumped my power output to between 55 and 60 watts, and my swr is right around 1.45-1.49,I hope to reduce that with a little work but is well within an exceptable level for now,my signal reports have been good and no complaints on my transmissions,as before I used this amplifier my transmissions were weak and hard to hear at times, much clearer now! I am using a Nagoya UT-72 loading antenna, and a low loss 240 coax from HT to amplifier.I feel that this was a great option for me to turn my HT's into a 50-60watt base station. The unit is well costructed, small in size and very easy to hook up,as for longevity I will have to wait and see,but as or if any issues arise I will post updates, but as of this writing I am very happy and would not hesitate to recommend this amplifier to anyone wanting to boost the output power of their handheld 5w radio. Just be sure you select the right model for your needs,VHF or UHF model, and whether or not you want analog only or analog/digital unit. 73

Great amplifier.
BTECH AMP-V25D Review.FCC ID: 2AGND-AMP-V This amplifier is FCC certified Part 90.This is BTECHs VHF amplifier with DMR capability. This amplifier allows someone with a handheld radio to transmit at higher power. There are three ways to connect a handheld radio to the amplifier. The amplifier has a built in speaker as well as a supplied hand microphone. This allows flexibility in operation. The radio's volume control controls the speaker. Audio levels are sufficient. Transmit audio with the included microphone is good. The amplifier includes a power cable with a cig lighter plug, so it must not draw much current, even at higher power. The manual does not provide specifications.Power output is great:Advertised Power Output: 20-40 WattsMeasured maximum Output power (Into dummy load):44 Watts with 5 watt input. All in all a good device. I'm happy with it.

A real workhorse. Who would have guessed?
My copy of this device puts out 48 watts with 13.8VDC input from a regulated power supply. With an HT and rooftop antenna, I can hit repeaters over 50 miles away and consistently get very clean signal reports. I've used it for many extended QSOs 20 to 30 minutes long with no problem at all. It gets a little warm but not enough to cause me any concern and it has never gone into alarm or shutdown due to overheating. I have very low SWR and I think that helps it run cool. Your mileage may vary but I'm very impressed with this little beast. Now if they came out with an auto-sensing dual band I'd snatch one up in a heartbeat. This thing spends most of its time mounted in the trunk of my car feeding a dual-band magnet mount. I made a 12 awg extension cord that runs up to the cigar lighter. If I want to use 2-meter I just unplug the power cord. Would be really cool if it could automatically bypass 2-meter signals but it doesn't so you need to remove power for 2-meter work. It's a momentary switch on the amp (not a rocker) but it does remember if it was on or off and resumes the last state when power is reapplied.
