Legend of the Star Runner: A Timmi Tobbson Adventure Book for Boys and Girls (Solve-Them-Yourself Mysteries for Kids 8-12) Paperback – May 22, 2018

This was a wonderful book! We read it in our accelerated reading class and worked on the clues as a group. It kept everyone engaged. The great descriptions along with the pictures helps students to visualize the story. My students are reading the sequels independently and are thrilled!

Purchased as a gift for my grandson. Although I try to go with books that I know he likes to read, I sometimes look to see what else is out there and get him something different. He did enjoy reading this so it was a success.

My daughter loves this book!! She keeps asking me to order more! She loves solving all the puzzles and there’s a special puzzle that gets you a special treat to your mailbox. She’s been checking the mail every single day. Highly recommend!

My 7 year old loved this! It follows the format of the now wildly innappropriate Black Hand Gang series that I loved as a child. At the end of each chapter there is a question and a visual clue for the reader to solve. The answer is revealed on the next page so no flipping to the back to solve. The books are light hearted and fun and easy to read.

After finishing the box set of the Timmi Tobbson Jr. books, my seven-year-old and I decided to give it a go at an "older kid" Timmi Tobbson book. My son loved how engaging the book was and the pictures every few pages.A few words would get him thinking as it is more geared at older kids, and he didn't understand all the vocabulary, but it was great for him to learn new words as well. My son is an avid reader, and was able to read the Jr books himself, but these books, I read to him, as they are bit advanced for him.Some of the puzzles were easier than others, and some we were unable to solve, but they all kept both him and myself engaged and thinking. These aren't really "hidden pictures" puzzles, but more so where you have to take the context of the chapter (sometimes even a few chapters back), and tie it together with the picture to figure out the answer to the puzzle.We are already in the middle of the second book

We absolutely love these books. They are a wonderful concept with mysteries within each chapter text and picture to solve. Great for kids with short attention spans. My 8 and 10 year old loved reading them. My 5 year old even tried to follow along, but we just purchased the junior book for him.As a speech therapist, I will also be using these with my clients in my practice to target comprehension and inference skills.Great job! We'll be owning the whole series in no time.(We also love the numbers mystery to complete at the end for a free signed gift from the author. What a great touch!)

We have thoroughly enjoyed this whole series! It is a great balance of mystery, intrigue, and just a little creepy to keep everyone on our toes. We normally do our reading before bedtime but this book became to hard to put down and extended bedtime waaaay too much. Highly recommend!

What a great idea for a book - I love this book. I read it to my kids and enjoy trying to work out the riddles myself. I thought the concept was great.
