Lowered the SSD idle temperature from 49 to 41 Celsius
WD Black SN850X NVME SSDs tend to run hot. This heat sink comes with 3 thermal pads, however, placing one underneath and one on top of the SSD was sufficient to cool it down from 49 to 41 Celsius at idle. There was no need to remove the sticker from the SSD.

This heatsink is built, looks, and is packaged like something costing 10X what it does. Excellent!
I have two 2280 size M.2 NVMe SSDs in my new build and wanted to put heatsinks on them to, A. Help them live and perform as well as possible and, B. dress them up a bit and give them a finished look for my build. I chose these because they were inexpensive, appeared to be decently made, and had the right look for what I wanted. After receiving and installing them, I am so impressed by the superior quality and finish of these heatsinks that I'm writing this review of them, something I rarely ever do on Amazon. The heatsinks arrived in a very neat, high quality box a little bigger than a CD case with two clear adhesive seals, as per typical. The box included some warranty and instructional paperwork (printed in english) the two piece heatsink, three silicone thermal pads (one spare), a little ziplock bag with the six screws needed to assemble the heatsink (there were actually seven, a spare was included here too), and a little phillips head screwdriver for the screws. The inclusion of the screwdriver was a really nice touch, as the screws are quite small and many people may not have a driver small enough - I didn't and I have a pretty comprehensive set of tools so this was a lifesaver really. All of these items were neatly arranged into a perfectly cut, dense foam rubber insert in the box. The packaging gives the impression that this is some kind of delicate and expensive photographic instrument or something, not a little $12 M.2 heatsink, but that's the kind of quality were talking about here. No blow molded PTFE packaging here, the way my DDR4 RAM sticks and other, much more expensive components were packaged. I digress. The heatsink is a two piece, black anodized aluminum 'sandwich', the top half is clearly machined from aluminum billet, the bottom is thin metal so probably just watercut or punched, but was still nicely finished and anodized black and had white manufacturer printing on the bottom. Even this rather insignificant detail, which you will never see once this is installed, is of high quality and nicely done. The M.2 drive fits (obviously) in between these two pieces with a silicone thermal pad on each side. The pads not only facilitate heat conduction from the drive to the heatsink (as per usual) but also compensate nicely for any slight variations in thickness of 2280 length M.2 drives from different brands. The tolerances, machining quality and finishing of the heatsink parts is, as expected by now, superb and my two drives, one a Samsung and one Crucial, which were not precisely identical in thickness, mounted perfectly and very snugly into the heatsinks and looks very "OEM" and proper with these installed.I don't want to give the impression from all this that these are fancy or elaborate in any way, because they're not. There's no RGB, no visible nameplates, or any other extraneous bells and whistles, they are just simple and beautifully made and are a very nice aesthetic touch to your build, in addition their functional nature of helping dissipate any excess heat from M.2 drives, which I'm sure isn't vital to their operation or they'd all have them already installed. Many of these drives are sold with the brand's heatsinks installed (think mainstream "gaming" RAM sticks) and from what I've seen, most M.2s with heatsinks sell for $50 to $75, or even more, over ones without. There are quite a few different designs, finishes and colors of these aftermarket M.2 heatsinks available at varying price points, some getting up there a bit. In my opinion, you could probably find something equal or pretty close to equal in quality and finish to these, but I highly doubt you'd find anything significantly better at any price. These only cost $12, making it a no-brainer for me, especially over paying the additional $50 or more premium for a preinstalled HS from the SSD brand. I put a lot of thought and care into my builds, both in performance and aesthetics and little details like these are a big part of having a nice polished look and optimal performance in my gaming PCs.If you have M.2 drives in your gaming PC, or intend to install these - they really are great and very fast - and you don't wanna pay and arm and a leg for one with preinstalled heatsinks, you should definitely consider one of these Yateng Chinese made models, you could hardly do better and the price is right.

PS5 PNY XLR8 CS3040 4TB M.2 NVMe Gen4 x4 memory and MHQJRH M.2 2280 SSD heatsink review
PS5 PNY XLR8 CS3040 4TB M.2 NVMe Gen4 x4 memory and MHQJRH M.2 2280 SSD heatsink reviewI did a lot a really lot of reading and watching all kinds of reviews.5500 MB/S or more needed for ps5Some tests I have seen on the fastest listed M.2 SSD’s and they saw sooooo very slight like a second or two in loading ONLY! faster. I would not waist my money (like an added $300-$400) on a faster drive 4tb I am talking about. As anything smaller you will fill fast with PS5 games and need bigger anyway. The COD Cold War takes up ~220GB alone. Then I looked into heat sink’s, some were cooler running than others, as expected. But what I also found out is the chips on the M.2 ‘s run optimal when they are warm not cold, not hot , that was very interesting.I also found my PS5 gets over all warm. So this is what I found to be the best for your storage and cooling.I purchased the 4TBPNY XLR8 CS3040 4TB M.2 NVMe Gen4 x4 Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) - M280CS3040-4TB-RB https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08TRN15K5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_5M13HJJ610NYFPMPRK2D?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1HeatsinkMHQJRH M.2 2280 SSD heatsink, Double-Sided Heat Sink, with Thermal Silicone pad for PC / PS5 M.2 PCIE NVMe SSD or M.2 SATA SSD https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KDDKDNN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_96ARAVRGE7J338T11KKX?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1Finally cooling fanCooling Fan for PS5 Accessories, KIWIHOME PS5 Cooling Fan with LED Light, Upgraded Quiet Cooler Fan with 3 Fans & Controller USB Port for Playstation 5 PS5 Digital Edition/Ultra HD Console https://www.amazon.com/dp/B098XJF39V/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_SP2XYZ54443MYV5XTXAX?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1I also have an external drive I have the 6TB version but the 8 TB is cheaper now.LaCie d2 Professional 8TB External Hard Drive Desktop HDD – USB-C USB 3.0 7200 RPM Enterprise Class Drives, 5 Year Warranty and Recovery Service (STHA8000800) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MK3T28F/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_5RSR8A19TZBQ6PGNDY61?psc=1With all 3 of these in my system, I have plenty of storage for years, all of my PS4 2TB of games are on the USB and all my PS5 games are on the PNY M.2 4TB extra internal. When I formatted the PNY M.2 4TB I only get 3860 in speed the PlayStation says (I tried the format 3 times with no change), but in testing I see no loading difference in my tests I have done. When you go into system settings on the PS5 then storage then select any of the drives on the left side you have, then select games and apps in the right, the quickest loading is the new external drive also in my tests, the external USB and Sony PS5 memory took 5-8 seconds to show (consistently), the PNY M.2 4TB was instant, and I only had a few apps left (like amazon, Hulu, etc. ) on the PS5 memory. Don’t know if it’s a good but it’s a test. The PNY comes with a 5 year warranty.I would like to stress that we should be backing up to any USB drive we have maybe even in storage, as when I got done loading all my PS4 and 5 games I used 2.5 TB of data and my isp so far has not limited me 1.2TB yet but is trying to unless I pay for unlimited that I think my price now is outrageous.I highly recommend the drive, heatsink, and fan to keep all cool. Also leave the cover in the extra slot as it’s a chamber for air flow and no knows what you could be overheating as you will break the airflow leaving the cover off, just add the fan I listed here and all should be great.Thank you for reading and happy gaming!!

Works
Came packaged well, fits well, no issues.

Works good, but I like another one better
Works fine, but the one I purchased with two screws per side works better.
